"The stairs to the 1st floor are nothing for disabled and drunks. The restaurant was small and original. Operation very accommodating. But the food, that was the hammer. You can't improve borillas to starters. The main run of a fish plate a balance. I hope we can visit this restaurant soon. Mostly it is booked due to size. Maybe 2023 again. Until then, stay healthy and please do not close. Too bad."

"Etwas abseits der großen Touristenpfade in Passau findet man mit dem Welcome eine herzliche, familiär geführtes Lokal. Im Sommer sitzt man im schön gestalteten Biergarten, den man über die nächste Querstraße erreicht. Dieser ist zwar nicht direkt am Wasser gelegen, dafür hat man hier Ruhe vor dem großen Drängen an der Donau und auch nicht die Preise. Das Lokal selbst kann auf den ersten Blick recht leer wirken, was sich aber schnell ändert, wenn man in den Hauptraum kommt. Neben einer kleinen, aber feinen Speisekarte gibt es gute Getränke, gute Musik und regelmäßige Aktionen. Fazit: Wenn man in der Passauer Altstadt unterwegs ist, sollte man unbedingt einen Abstecher im Welcome machen, Hier wird man herzlich Willkommen geheißen und kann gut die Seele baumeln lassen."

"good: very good pizzas, simply the best in the city. the service is friendly and can be fast depending on the visit. bad: if it has to do, the service will often come slowly to them. they are very efficient, but it also happened to me that I wasn't even made with my starter, the pizza came and without even notice my starter was gone."

"Das Pandaria kenne ich schon einige Jahre und ich muss sagen, es ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und etwas heruntergekommen. Es ist schmutzig, Wände mit Soßenspritzern, die Tischbeine sehr staubig und fleckig, Stuhlbezug unappetitlich dreckig, schlimm eklig. Die Dekorationen lieblos verdreckt und ungepflegt. Wir waren um ca 12.30Uhr da, einige Speisen vom Buffet waren schon leergegessen und wurden nicht aufgefüllt oder waren kalt, obwohl die Mittagszeit bis 14 Uhr geht. Insgesamt alles sehr freudlos, lieblos und vernachlässigt. Geschmacklich auch kein Gewinn, wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Schade, dass das ehemals gute Lokal so vernachlässigt wird. Wahrscheinlich sieht man am Abend (Schummerlicht) den Dreck nicht. Auch die Toilette... Ich führe es nicht weiter aus. Wir kommen nicht wieder, schade"

"When Saarland is very close to French food, I can only say:Top!! The chef and his team could also be in Alsace and Lorraine. "Sehr gutes Restaurant inmitten von Passau, wir besuchten es mit der Familie, sehr schön eingerichtet guter Service und qualitativ hochwertig. Wir bekommen trotz dessen dass wir keine Reservierung hatten einen guten Platz und wurden sehr freundlich bedient. Schnitzel mit Pommes für das Kind waren sehr schnell da, Fleisch zart und lecker. Es gab eine spielecke für die Kinder, welche sehr schön eingerichtet war. Unsere Gerichte waren sehr gut und das Fleisch des hähnchens saftig und butterzart. Ebenso das Grillgemüse sowie die wedges und grüß die Taler waren definitiv eine Geschmacksexplosion. Dieses Lokal ist sehr zu empfehlen, es macht satt es sind große Portionen zu fairen Preisen wir kommen gerne wieder"

"Wir kommen bereits seit Eröffnung des Lokals vor ein paar Jahren immer wieder ins Va Bene. Alle Salate und Pasta-Gerichte gibt es als kleine oder große Variante, was uns besonders gefällt, denn so kann man sich je nach Hunger entscheiden. Daneben gibt es verschiedene Varianten von Burgern, Schnitzeln und Piadinas. Der Kaffee ist gut und der Service ausnahmslos immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir sind regelmäßig hier, v.a. wenn wir Lust auf einen schnellen Salat haben. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut, weshalb das Va Bene seit Jahren zu einem unserer Stammlokale gehört. Beide Daumen hoch! Wir können das Va Bene bedenkenlos empfehlen!"

"Had a whole Weißbier poured over me by accident by a waiter. My new jumper and my trousers were soaked. I did not create much of a fuss. We were a group of 8 and had meals and drinks and spent several hundred Euros as a group. First I was promised all dry cleaning is covered through their insurance. After we paid the full bill I was told I should bring my clothes the next day in case "I can see any staines". No drinks or other form of compensation was offered. I told them this was not possible as we were travelling abroad. Not a a terribly impressive service. I certainly rate it as a very poor show."

"wir waren heute spontan und zufällig dort und ich muss sagen dass dies die seit mindestens 1 Jahr beste Pizza war. Speziell die Dinkelpizza( kleiner Aufpreis von ca. 1.80€ absolut gefechtfertigt) war genauso wie ich mir eine Pizza vorstelle. saftig und knusprig zugleich mit hochwertigem Belag. Die Lasagne super saftig und durch und durch heiss und g'schmackig. Das Service entspannt und angepasst an das Clientell. Chilli und Knoblauöl am Tisch ( könnte noch schärfer sein für meinen Geschmack) seh gut. Aperol gut gemischt. Wir kommen wieder und empfehlen Sie weiter."

"We only stopped in for drinks while on the walk over from St. Stephan Cathedral to cross the river and make the climb up to the Oberhaus castle... the large patio overlooks the confluence of the Donau and Ilz - what a perfect setting to enjoy a large mug of the delicious Bavarian Heffeweise (wheat beer) - my son - only 15 - was jealous he did not get to enjoy a brew with his 18 year old cousin! The pretzels did look tempting. The service is table service only - large signs on the outdoor bar to the effect "Take-away Verboten" - but table service was quick and friendly - after our beers we were fortified to make the steep climb up to the castle - but it would be very easy to while away a sunny and pleasant afternoon quaffing multiple brews in this beer garden!"

"Had dinner here, consisting of mushroom soup for both of us. I also had the fish patties with salad and potatoes au gratin, and the husband did sausages and sauerkraut. The soup was great, and the service was reasonably attentive. Sausage was not memorable according...to my husband, but he enjoyed the sauerkraut as above average. My fish patties were densely packed and mild. There was no lemon or sauce to punch it up a little, so I dug out the lemon wedge from my drink to give them some tang. The potatoes au gratin were homestyle and good, and the salad was a nice fresh taste counterpoint to the fish and potatoes. All in all, a good place to eat dinner and at a reasonable price"

"Das Maharaja in Passau ist immer einen Besuch wert. So waren wir gestern wieder da und wurden mit köstlichem Essen und tollem Service verwöhnt. Unsere Lieblingsspeisen finden wir unter der vegetarischen Rubrik. Die Auswahl vegetarischer Gerichte ist toll, man kann sich fast nicht entscheiden, was man wählt. Das ist ein Grund, immer wieder hier hin zu kommen, um alles probieren zu können. Aber auch die Fleischgerichte sind sehr schmackhaft. Und hier gibt es den besten Mango-Lassie. Die Inhaber des Maharaja zeigen mit ihrer Herzlichkeit, dass man immer willkommen ist. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch und können dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen."

"We were four, late afternoon, and all enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Place is clean and inviting, a bit dark for truly seeing what you're spearing on your fork, so that a whole extra hot pepper may well be chewed on unknowingly. Main dishes are both tasty and large enough. Rice was appreciated by all. My kofta dish was excellent. Ice cream is nothing worth mentioning. Good English is spoken, and one is willingly advised about spiciness AND ingredients before placing orders. Service persons do not try to foist on customers more than they order. Beer price is fair. Popular - consider reservations even on an average weekday."

"Discovered the restaurant while driving around Passau looking for somewhere to park on an evening in August. Entry is down what appears to be a back alley with entrance to left and toilets to right. Indoor seating area, and outside area in back yard the latter being the most poular when we visited. While walking through the interior however beware of floor level changes./steps which are not very visible. Staff friendly, but not as efficient as they could be. Menus available in English as well as German but the daily specials are not shown in the English menus. Tomato soup starter was delicious, rick, thick and creamy full of flavour. Mains my seafood pasta was very good, prawns, calamari, mussels in a rich sauce. Other pasta dishes were also enjoyed, the only let down being the pasta in tomato sauce, which was too thick and tasted too much of concentrated tomato. Desserts were very good, particularly the chocolate mousse, 3 quenelles, with sauce and fruit on the side. Had to ask 4 times for the bill before it arrived, but when it did the price was very reasonable."

"We are excited about the economy with its identical maintenance of the facility, the grim, warm staff and of course the kitchen. We were offered as a vegan from the stand out 3 possibilities by Koch Josef, which he can prepare us freshly. "Bis jetz war wirklich immer alles ausgezecnet im Kowalski! Der Service immer freundlich, die Burger immer gut. Das Kowalski liegt an einer Hauptstraße in direkter Nähe zum Inn. Den Lärm der Autos hört man drinnen nicht und draußen genießt man eine schöne Aussicht auf den Inn. Das Kowalski selbst macht schon etwas her, hinter der unscheinbaren Eingangstür steckt ein echt modern eingerichtetes Restaurant. Es heißt zwar Cafe und ja der Kaffee ist auch echt lecker, jedoch speißt man hier echt super. Die Speißekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Es gibt auch eine gute Auswahl an vegetarischen Speißen (selbst teilweise vegan), auch wenn der Fokus auf amerikanischer Küche liegt. Es gibt also hauptsächlich Burger, abeer auch eine gute Auswahl an Nudelgerichten, Salaten und co,, auch alles auf der Homepage nachzulesen. Die Preise gehen echt völlig in Ordnung, im Gegensatz zum Max+Muh sind hier im Preis die Pommes oder Wedges schon im Preis enthalten, der Preis selbst ist aber auch nicht teurer als dort zum Beispiel. Das Kowalski hat auch eine eigene Bar und somit neben den nicht-alkoholischen Getränken auch eine breite Auswahl an Cocktails und alkoholischen Getränken. Man kann also auch längere Abende hier gut überstehen. Das Personal war bisher immer freundlich. Also rundum zufrieden."
