"Being a vegetarian, I had very restricted choice of restaurants in Passau. Once, I went to Chandni restaurant and could not help going back again to same place two more times. It seems lot of local people also like this restaurant and is always FULL. Thus, it is highly recommended to make a reservation. We were not able to on one occasion but the owner managed to squeeze us in. Service is fast and professional. Decor is also good.Only the owner speaks English, or perhaps the waitress did not understand our accent. Palak/Saag Paneer was good. Chole were also good but a bit spicy. Kofta was half cooked. Naans are made in oven and not in a tandoor but are still good. I also liked the Mango lassi but my pals did not like it so much.. The mango lass has a mild flavor and was not sweet enough for them (perhaps, was adapted to taste of locals)."

Best Indian Food I've had in Germany. Great atmosphere and very professional staff. We ate a range of meal types amongst the family and all were good

It's a popular restaurant. On Saturdays you have to make a reservation up to one or two weeks before you want to go there. And that's absolutely understandable as the food is definitely tasty, a real delight.

Ive been to India and have also tried alot of Indian restaurants in Singapore. I was very impressed because having my first bite made me remember the good old days. Service was also good. It's just a pity that it's only open for dinner.

Not authentic at all !! When you order chicken Tikka Masala, do you expect fried chicken? When you order Chicken Madras, do you expect slop containg pineapple chunks? Dont understand the popularity. Think I will cook my own from now on!

- unfriendly when making reservations, didn't want to reserve a table outside- We waited 40 minutes for starters and another 20 for the main dish- Brought wrong order, insisted It was my mistake- food is good, variety is goodIt used to be the only indian place in Passau. We wouldn't recommend it to a friend anymore.

Great food, awesome service and most of all the authenticity of the food that was served. I was there with a friend of mine who said "Dude, are we in India?" And the most important aspect of this restaurant was the value for money. However, I did not like the mango lassi with an extra ingredient, but my friend loved it.

Small restaurant in a vaulted room near the river. Friendly service, mostly German speaking not Emglish, although the Indian boss is multilingual. We had pappadums, then palak paneer, which was unctious and fragrant and a prawn special with ginger and tomatoes which was fresh and spicy. Really nice evening! We didn't book, but only got the last available table, on a very wet Friday in April - somI would recommend booking. They only take German EC cards or cash.

We were four, late afternoon, and all enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Place is clean and inviting, a bit dark for truly seeing what you're spearing on your fork, so that a whole extra hot pepper may well be chewed on unknowingly. Main dishes are both tasty and large enough. Rice was appreciated by all. My kofta dish was excellent. Ice cream is nothing worth mentioning. Good English is spoken, and one is willingly advised about spiciness AND ingredients before placing orders. Service persons do not try to foist on customers more than they order. Beer price is fair. Popular - consider reservations even on an average weekday.

"It was shortly before 10 pm and two other restaurants that had advertised having a kitchen open until 10 pm had already told me that the kitchen was, in fact, already closed. Roses was open and the waitress still let me order.I had the Cheesesteak 2 (steak, provolone, bell pepper, onion, mushroom), which came with a small salad dressed in oil and balsamic vinegar and steak fries. It was really a quality meal. The cheesesteak was one of the best I have ever had, and is definitely the best I have had in Germany. I could have eaten two. The fries were hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad was OK, too - my only complaint there was that there were carrot and cucumber ribbons, which looked pretty but were hard to eat.If I remember correctly, the difference between Cheesesteak 1 and Cheesesteak 2 was sliced mushrooms, but the price difference was a euro. A euro seems a bit steep for a couple of pieces of mushroom, so if I return, I'd probably get the Cheesesteak 1 and save the euro. The other food on the menu sounded good, too.The waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job of managing the tables - at 10:30 p.m. on a Monday in winter, almost all of the tables were full and there was only one waitress working.Otherwise, the atmosphere was cozy - a shabby chic French café sort of place. Indie music was playing, and a little bit on the loud side, so if you're on a quiet date or looking for a place to meet up with friends and have a more serious conversation, this probably isn't it.Also, the beers are Hacklberger, but that's not printed on the menu - around here, there's always the risk of getting Graf Arco."
