"We had a late lunch with our family after exploring the ruined castle in the morning. The food we ordered was decent, but we found the final bill to be a bit on the pricey side. The two soups we ordered for the children were tasty and reasonably priced. However, my wife and I were disappointed with the sharing platter we ordered for £12, as it only came with small portions of cheese, bread, chutney, and salad. While the food tasted good, we felt it was overpriced. The service was also lacking, and despite being the only customers in the restaurant, we didn't receive great service. Overall, we won't be in a hurry to return to this restaurant."

"3rd review, I think, but has to be done. Fabians is consistently excellent. The restaurant itself is lovely. The food is ALWAYS great and the service is consistently superb! It's so nice to go to a restaurant where you are made to feel comfortable and welcome from the outset. I also appreciate that Fabian makes every single dish from scratch. So many restaurants use pre-made frozen veg etc, you wont find that in Fabians. Very tasty food in a great venue. Thanks again!"

"Ordered online for a takeaway for collection, received an email confirmation with a different time to what was requested, we put this down to the restaurant being possibly busy. On return home, we noticed that we received different items to what was ordered so we contacted the restaurant to let them know, the staff who answered the phone repeatedly told me “no” and that what we received was correct. I ordered two different starters and a chicken tikka massala, however received two portions of onion bhajis and a different curry. The staff member kept telling me I was wrong, however my confirmation email receipt clearly states a sheek and shami kebab starters. I would have been ok with onion bhajis however customer service was not evident from this restaurant and came across rude. Unhappy with the customer service but overall curry was ok. Not the best but not the worst."

We share a tandoori rooti bread fabulous. Wine decent prices under a bottle. We finished our meal with cheesecake. Service always with a smile as Robby and his team always look after us granted there is soemtimes a wait but we dont mind and the food here is always worth waiting for. Well worth a try if in the area."

"Stopped by this Cafe recently, after taking in the awful musty smell of old books as we entered we took a seat and with my husband taking his time to read the menu I was nosing around the place as women do) it was then that I noticed the cob webs everywhere, on the window sil was the biggest darkest grey cob web I have ever seen and was stomach churning, they were all over the blinds and curtains. I then said to my husband that I had to leave as there was no way I was eating or drinking in a place where the staff could not see this and where they cannot be bothered to clean. I do not know what Hygiene rating this Cafe has but I would not give it a 1 let alone 5, In this day and age there is no need of this and I am surprised that the Environmental health has not visited. No wonder it was dead quiet in there."

"This is a great place to launch a walk along the Sever way. Nowhere is perfect so let's look at the hotels short commings first. Der, not easy, parking is on the street so your posh car might get wet, bus stop (fabulous x75) right outside. Bed a little soft for me but Cate likes it like that, light of the heating system a bit bright, but good if you get up in the night, breakfast a bit large if you are going to sit around all day, but perfect if going for a walk. Honestly folks this is a gorgeous little hotel with open beams and modern woodwork. Great service and good food. Oh, and that picnic lunch? Next door is an amazing small bakery. We will defoe back."

"The restaurant is situated on the main road, with a large tent in the front for outdoor dining. Since we were in the area on vacation with our dog, we decided to eat outside. Dogs are only allowed indoors if they are service animals. The service was average, our drinks arrived quickly but we had to remind the staff to take our food order. The menu offers a variety of options, and I chose the fish and chips while my wife had the duck. Both dishes were hearty and stayed warm despite the cool breeze in the tent. In total, two meals and a bottle of wine cost approximately £50, which we found to be reasonable considering the location."

"I have spent a third of my year at a local campsite and have been going to the Hundred House for years. It used to be a great pub, but our last few visits have been terrible and I will never visit again. On this visit, we preordered food and arrived on time, but our table was dirty and wet. We asked to have it cleaned, but they only did half of it, so we had to ask again. We were then told that the starters half of us had ordered had run out. I ordered a pint, but I have had to drink cider on my last couple of visits because the beer I used to enjoy, Butty Bach, is terrible these days. I was looking forward to a Sunday lunch, but when it arrived, the Yorkshire pudding was rock hard, as was the stuffing and parsnips. The roast potatoes were barely edible. It was the first time in my life I couldn't eat a Yorkshire pudding because it was inedible. The vegetables were good, although we had to ask for extra condiments and cutlery. The service was absolutely shocking, and when we told a young server about our problems, he did nothing about it. When I went to pay the bill and mentioned how bad the experience was to the cashier, he said I could speak to the landlord. But by then, I was fed up and didn't bother. The landlady approached my sister on the way out and offered to refund £30 of the £85 bill, but since I had paid for the meal, she declined. I preferred to stick to my side of the deal, pay what was owed, and let everyone know about my experiences. If you are looking for poor service, bad food, and rubbish beer, this is the place for you."

"I'm a local and regularly visit this fascinating tea shop (they sell coffee too . It's hard to know where to start, they have an amazing selection of teas, and they have a large range of coffees, and the hot chocolate is pretty good too....Then there is the food, most of which, including the bread, is hand made on the premises using local ingredients where possible. I would happily just eat bread and butter! Then we get to the second part of the shop, whilst you sit you are surrounded by an amazing array of fair trade goods and local art. I can go in there every day and still find something I haven't seen before. To top it all off is the warm welcome given to locals and visitors alike from the owners and staff. Even your dog will get a biscuit! If you are visiting Knighton this is one place you must visit"

"We were visiting the area and booked a table for dinner on Saturday evening. The pub was busy with friendly locals and the atmosphere was so welcoming and happy. We learned that this pub was purchased by the village back in 2018 and the spirit...of the village shone through like the Seven Stars. Eulogy aside: the staff were friendly, very efficient, helpful, and below 25! The beer choices were excellent (recommend Butty Bach), and the food was, well...excellent All cooked to order, fresh and local. I had a Chicken and Leek Pie and the pie was a proper one.. not the pre-cooked, goo in a bowl with pastry top. This was a full pie and obviously handmade on the premises. Superb. If you are looking for a REAL pub in the true sense of the word, this is not to be missed."

"in the morning for Sunday dinner today and it was amazing, both meals were breathtaking, the bark was so tender, the gravy rich and tasty with lots of fresh vegetables, dauphinois carrots as well as fry and a Yorkshire doll, all piping hot. the minze pea risotto was so creamy and light with a delicate hauch minze. the desserts are to die for, all homemade, the lemon posset is from this world as the terry’s chocolate orange cheesecake all beautifully presented. very recommend a visit, they will not be disappointed only arrive starving as the portions are plentiful. the staff are friendly and service is efficient. well made jon, ali and the team."

"Stayed with my partner for 2 nights in the larger Family Room. Tastefully decorated, very clean and our room was well equipped with a lovely view. Although the main road was close by, it wasn't very busy so we slept well. Very centrally located for visiting sightseeing. Plenty of parking is available. Beautiful garden to sit out in. Liked the thoughtful extras provided, i.e. Bottle of iced water and a little urn of fresh milk for Tea Coffee which were brought to our room after checking in. We dined here on both nights and weren't disappointed. The food is really really good thanks to David who is also the Chef and the food is not your typical Pub food. There are a variety of Vegetarian options available as well. The Desserts are fabulous! We both had the full Welsh Breakfasts and really enjoyed them. Portions are very good. Odette and David are wonderful hosts who certainly go the extra mile for their guests. This couple fully deserve our 10 10 rating! We couldn't fault anything except we should have stayed for longer! Thank you so much Odette David."

"In Wales on Holiday and decided to give the Drovers Thai a go even though I had seen a couple of negative reviews. We were very both very impressed. We live in North East London and this little place would give most of the places we have around us a run for their money. It’s very reasonable and the flavours are original and don’t feel mass produced. We went to Thailand on our honeymoon many years ago and it did remind me of the cooking you get in the smaller restaurants out there. If you fancy a good Thai look no further."

"There are simple no others words to say than The Dolfor Inn is possible one of the best places I've ever stayed in. That's because everything is done right. We only stayed one evening, and my husband and I cannot find a single thing we thought could have been done better. The room was outstanding, the bed was out of this world. I judge places I stay at by their bed and bedding, some places have a good bed and not good bedding in others it's the reverse. Here, everything is right, the bedding, the sheets, the duvet, the bed, the pillows all made for a perfect night's sleep. The food is also a must, we'd read some very good things about the food here and the online menu did not disappoint. 2 course for £12.95, and 3 courses for I think £16.95 (don't quote me). One prawn and one halloumi starter were both delicious, one ham, egg and chips and one Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie with some changes were out of this world comfort food. The portions were spot on as well. Breakfast in the morning, which is preordered the night before, was lovely. Shane was on hand for top ups of tea, coffee and toast if it was needed. The selection of cereals, granola and yoghurts was also fantastic. Hospitality here is not forgotten, if fact it rates as reason two why we'd come stay here again. In fact i'm already planning another trip to Mid Wales just to stay here, for longer than one evening."

"I have put that we were here for lunch, because we came on a Sunday and partook of the traditional Sunday Roast, but we actually booked a table for the early evening. I did have a little nagging concern that, going in the evening after a busy Sunday lunch service, we might be getting the ends of the roasts and the kept warm sides, but my fears were completely ungrounded. We both went for Roast Pork and received large plates, stacked high, well presented and thoroughly delicious. A generous portion of meat and crackling, atop a veritable mound of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Served piping hot, with hot plates. I really didn't think I was going to be able to finish, but the dessert menu proved too tempting and we indulged there as well. Service was friendly and attentive, without being too much and we felt very relaxed and in no rush. The menu on a Sunday is priced for either two courses or three, you would be challenged to manage three! We came away feeling very full but having thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

"Wonderful little cosy establishment. We popped in on a quiet day after missing breakfast and we were desperate to find breakfast before travelling off we cheekily asked the lady behind the counter if it was possible if she could still do breakfast to which she replied fo course. We really appreciate what the lady did for us. Really lovely staff super helpful and kind. Generous portions and good food the pot of tea for two is huge! Definitely would recommend"

"If you are in this area and are looking for that special little place.... Look no further than Seeds it will not disappoint. We've ate in some lovely restaurants in our time but this is up there. The front of house is the right balance of care and attention but allowing you space to enjoy the evening, whilst the chef is all about taste. This is classic cuisine without the pretentiousness of some fine dining establishments that try to put on style over substance. This chef gets the balance perfect for me a true sage of taste nothing here that doesn't contribute to the meal. The finish of treacle tart for me was a true genius at work the little addition of lemon to counter act this often to sweet tart and the texture was excellent... Simply I've eaten no better version of this. Do yourself a favour and book... You'll have no regrets. I can't wait to go back. A true gem. Thanks Alan"
