"I love this place. The food is (I would say) Goan Indian with a few Anglicised dishes. The flavours of the dishes are exceptional, and you can taste the different spices that have been used in each case no premixed sauces here. The Vindaloo is my favourite , it is not the fiery hot nonsense that you get in a standard Indian restaurant, but a beautifully balanced dish that allows the individual flavours to shine through. The staff are friendly and will take the time to explain the menu and why this is different. I can 't wait to go again, and try the lamb next."

"Popped in for a coffee . Made way through the pungant shop attracted by the open plan kitchen above. As I entered the café I greeted the 2 staff with a jolly 'hello ' and received a muted response. I sat on the available table with my partner who stood back up to make an order after a couple of minutes of standing clearly in front of the kitchen counter as it not apparent if it 's table service or not and no obvious till area the staff continued with their tasks at hand and made no attempt at communication .... My partner was eventually met with a curt grimaced can you give us a minute not a we 'll pop over in a minute to take an order or please bear with us which should have been communicated within at least the first minute of arrival bearing in mind there was all of 4 5 customers . Another lady awaiting her takeaway order returned and was then greeted with the same if not more grimaced curt can you give us a minute ' at which point I looked at my partner who had sat down again. I do not mind waiting one bit but after a hardly friendly greetings followed by grimace and negative energy oh the irony ! meant we decided to make our exit . Those 2 'girls ' should not be front of house work in an open kitchen or possibly even just serve coffee. rude weird vibes. Shaka"

"My group of three enjoyed a fantastic meal at this restaurant, including dishes like fish soup, hake, seafood terrine, confit of duck, ham hock terrine, and fish and chips. The prices were reasonable thanks to a special offer that they frequently have. The wine was a bit on the pricey side, almost like having a fourth person at the table. The staff was very friendly and the service, although a bit slow, was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and busy, with a diverse group of customers. We would definitely return to this restaurant."

"A wonderful local cafe and deli. Tables inside and out. As well as consistently delicious breakfast, lunch options, and cake, the deli stocks a broad range of interesting and high quality wine, cheese, vegetable, bread, oils , teas and other larder items that make great last minute gifts. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. My only criticism is that their coffee is pretty dreadful. It’s a shame, as this often steers me away. Recommend they get on top of their coffee game to earn their rightful place as top in their class in Richmond."

"Beginning to get really frustrated with this old favorite. The last few times l've visited l've been really disappointed. It's become a place to hold kids parties and this is only putting off loyal customers from dining. Tonight my partner and arrived at 6:30 hoping to get a table, thankfully we did but not without being told we'd have to give it up by 7:30 to accommodate another party. The only other table occupied in the restaurant was that of a kids party taking up around 20 seats. The noise in there was unbearable. Kids screeching and shouting at one another across the table. l asked the lady serving us if she could switch off the music playing from the speaker above my head to which she just shook her head and waved her hands before leaving the table. The music was not turned off. My partner and I didn't even finish our food we couldn't bear to sit in there any longer. Really not happy with our recent experiences. Something needs to change. You must limit these kids parties, you're driving loyal custom"

"i have been eating here for 30 years now and the staff and food has never failed to please me and my family , always welcoming and quick good food supplied . it amazed me that when i was approached by the manager on a recent visit that to recall an incident when i last at the restaurant , there was an inspector present on the 04th september 2023 and he was revelling in occupying the managers time even though the restaurant was busy , the inspector finally left under his own accord and i proceeded to enjoy my meal as usual , i am horified to find out that since then the inspector has filed a unfair and inaccurate report of the situation . this is a fantastic run family business that needs support and the offer great food and great service ."

"I have used Monafs for many years, not frequently as I am disabled and they didn't deliver. I was delighted when they started offering delivery not long ago. I normally have a Special Thali which I find superb. However, the last 2 orders have not been good, particularly the last one. I got duplicated dishes 2 cauliflower bhajis and 2 identical lamb dishes. So much for variety. However, the one inexcusable thing was the replacement of the single, large tandoori king prawn with tiny prawns as used in prawn patia roti. No explanation or apology. I consider this to be bordering on dishonesty and will not use Monafs again unless I get an explanation."

"Tiffany is absolutely amazing. Even with everything going on, she still makes a pub environment feel safe and enjoyable. It is so nice to see someone take so much pride in what they do to keep a business going. There is not a bad word i could say about this pub. Everything is clean and tidy, even prior to COVID, it has always been the way here with her running it. For the food, what can i say.... i have never had a bad meal here, Friday night, cant beat the nachos, Sunday, i cant say i have ever had a better roast in a pub/restaurant. As for the AJ pies, if you haven’t had one, you NEED to try one. All in all, i would highly recommend this pub, wether it is for food or drink. All staff are so friendly and welcoming, but Tiffany is by far is the best manager of a pub i have come across and there is never a dull moment being here."

"Worst experience we have ever had in a pub. Worst service. 45’ for a burger. We asked for no onions in one of the dishes and there were onions. I asked to drinks to be brought fresh with food. They brought drinks and the food was 30’ apart. Burgers were dry and poor quality, buns were also bad. No taste into the beef on the roast. The only decent meal was the chicken."

"I wanted to write about this place for awhile. It looks so nice from the outside and the setting is nice. But I was really disappointed. I stopped for a snack in Taste of Twickenham and found the staff unwelcoming. I bought a pepsi for later and paid take out price, and the girl waiting accused me of paying take out when drinking in, but I'd actually bought it for later. I find it expensive and actually lacking in any real quality. I don't find them friendly at all. I guess they have a good location so don't bother. I've never bothered to go back."

"Go to Google for the real reviews on this poor place. £60 for a god awful afternoon tea that includes stale sandwiches and cheap filing. Absolutely nothing like the advertised material which has brioche rolles, beaguttes. This was a really poor tea. No tarts, éclairs, compote..just some cheap tiny cakes. The restaurant service is as bad as it gets. Plenty of staff but it's like managed by donkeys. How did this take 30 min to come out? I literally could've gone to the local supermarket and bought the ingredients, made it within that time and it wouldve been much higher quality. How they can misadvertise and think close to £60 for an afternoon tea of this quality to beyond embarrassing. It was seriously close to school dinner. Have a look at the photo."

"What a find!!!I have had the kippers for breakfast twice here and they are fantastic!!Not allowed to cook them at home because of the smell.The portion size is ridiculously large and was served with grilled tomatoes,wilted spinach and avocado. "visit cafe zizou is a real pleasure. the staff is immediately friendly, and they are also welcomed by the varied and interesting selection of cakes, of which I choose a caramel button. I decent disc that is not too sweet, but could be a bit more generous on the chocolate upstairs. my mother's cappuccino is on, of her as exceptionally well described, with a lot of foam. the tee of my father is a beautiful golden color, probably thanks to its pot with two tees bags, how very generous! Overall we really like it. I would come back and try one of their french town themen sandwiches, or their freshly pressed lemon juice. cafe zizou is a truly authentic unpretentious French caffe. How great is her work of art?"

"Right. The food here is amazing. So fresh, full of flavour and delicious. The staff were fab. We wanted to take our time and have a relaxing Sunday afternoon meal. They let us order course by course rather than ordering everything at once. The cocktails too, were great. I had the house one and it was delicious. Unfortunately, some of the clientele let this place down. First, we had a table with an extended family behind us. They had obviously been in the pub a while and the children were getting bored and restless which isn 't the children 's fault. They were running around the pub, almost colliding with waiting staff on several occasions. One child decided it would be fun to run at the back of the bench seat we were sitting on and crash into it. All the adults in the group did was to threaten to leave for about an hour. Finally they left, thank goodness! Then arrived a very loud, crass man who only seemed to be able to speak at shouting level. At no point did any of the staff or management speak to any of these customers, and considering we were in the 'restaurant ' section of the pub, you would have thought they would want their diners to have a better experience. My advice would be, definitely order takeaway."

"Absolutely love Cafe Toscana, have been going there for years. Makes no difference if you’re picking up a takeaway coffee or having a leisurely lunch you are still warmly welcomed. Always a delicious choice either from the regular menu options or the ever changing specials Besa comes up with. My son particularly loves the beef lasagne... I thought my homemade version was amazing but he tells me it’s just not as good as Besa’s. Have to say I can’t be offended as I’ve tasted it as well and it’s wonderful."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant, with excellent service and delectable food. The dishes were presented beautifully with great care. For appetizers, we enjoyed prawn toasts, duck pancakes, and spring rolls. Our main courses included Thai green chicken curry, chicken with chili and basil, crispy fried fish, and stir-fried prawns with vegetables, served with egg fried rice and noodles. Every dish was flavorful and delightful. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Kew."

"Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and the staff were just rude! Ordered a drink and asked if they had food only to be told they were booked out….. despite there being a number of free tables! Once dismissed they ignored us. Take a tip… pop up to the Bells Inn where we went afterwards). The staff were lovely and welcoming and the food was lovely. This place only cares about their regulars …. Visitors were treated like lepers! No thanks!!!"

"Visited The Tap Tavern recently because friend B used to go there in his misspent youth in the 70s and wanted to see his old stamping ground. It was mid-afternoon and completely empty (so we were pleased it was open and serving), so one could hardly say there was any atmosphere. Very nice beer, a generous bowl of mixed nuts, and pleasant serving staff. Apparently the place had changed over the intervening half century (including its name) but the perilous ascent up rickety wooden stair to the loos I guess has not changed! Be careful if you're infirm! Otherwise it's a place I'd happily recommend."
