"A friend hurt himself on the slopes after a ski accident so we thought we’d go for lunch to soften the blow. We have been skiing in St Martin for 20 years and have driven past the restaurant many times saying we should go. Anyway today we did. Before I comment, I have been lucky enough to go to many beautiful Michelin restaurants. We ordered the 5 dish set menu. By the time we had finished , I’m not sure how many courses we had as they just kept on coming. As regards what was served, it was utterly stunning. I have eaten at Gavroche for 25 years (which I love) and the food served was simply awesome. Oysters, sweetbread, asparagus, a fish I can’t remember. ….. everything was lovely I love eating and drinking in a restaurant with a passion for both and this place simply sang. In short, one of the best lunches I have ever had and all I can say is that it was simply excellent. . Yes it is expensive but the biggest compliment I can give this restaurant is that it is well worth it. 5 stars all the way. Service was also excellent with enthusiastic young staff delivering a service to rival London’s best. One comment. The wine list is a thing of beauty but the pricing is hit and miss. The pricing is a bit expensive but with some well priced wines. If you know what you are doing then you can have some lovely wine at a good price but I’d prefer if the pricing was reduced a little so all can enjoy what is a lovely wine list. As regards our lunch, 5 stars. It was simply stunning and the owner came to say hello at the end of the meal: an Arsenal fan we all have our issues Food with love, integrity and passion and I am a conservative judge. Simply lovely. I hope others have the same experience and well done to all involved as I’m not easily pleased."

"To be fair, this is a good spot to stop for lunch whilst skiing. Good mountain views and the food is pretty good. We ate there days ago and We nearly walked back out as we were ignored for ten mins or so ......But after we were served the service was ok. We called in today as we were passing again and waned a bit of lunch and a drink. We took a table right near the front and as it was still filled with used pots and glasses, I tried to get the waitress .. JULIA. to clear the table so I could sit down. I greeted her times over a ten minute period, with Bon jour, but she didn't even acknowledge me! Another couple went more into the outside seating area and was taken menus straight away!!!!!! My partner said , let's leave it , she is just rude, but it was already so didn't want to ski on and find another place. So I kept trying to get her attention... She seemed more interested in chatting to a group of young men. Quite a few of the bigger tables were filled with old pots etc and she made no attempt at clearing any. Indeed a group of came in and wanted to sit at the bigger table next to us.. They sat and waited for some acknowledgement , but it didn't come and they got up and walked out. We was then greated by Tiba, a really nice young man, who quickly cleared our table and took our order for drinks... Came back with them and we ordered food. He was quite apologetic about JULIA as I had told him she had IGNORED me times. The food was nice BUT let's face it .. CUSTOMERS ARE KING AND SHOULD BE TREATED SO. NOT **** IGNORED. A group of young lads sat on the bigger table whilst we was eating , but the table wasn't cleared for them.... A few others who was with them wouldn't sit there and moved on.. Again another group of came and stood by the table, but was also ignored , after mins they also gave up and moved on. IT WASNT that busy... So there IS NO EXCUSE for being rude to customers and ignoring them and also for NOT clearing dirty tables which is a cardinal sin in a Restaurant .... There was another young girl waitress who by the way was also very helpful and pleasant. TIP to boss.. GET GOOD STAFF or it ruins your business. You could have had more paying customers IF they were acknowledged and tables cleaned. And that was just in the time we were sat there."
