"This was our first visit to Dunsley Hall with a group of fifty or more people etc my husband and I were looking forward to our pre-booked meal, after going into the restaraunt and sitting at our allocated table waiting for our meal to be served, the staff were very friendly and did a good job of serving at the tables and waiting on us as it was a busy night for them all. My husband and I were very disappointed in some of the three course meal itself ,I did enjoy my starter of pate etc but my husband didn't enjoy his prawn cocktail starter and wasn't very impressed as he said the rocket salad which it was on tasted gritty, and the prawns didn't taste fresh, the main course of turkey/stuffing/yorkshire pudding which I had was nice enough plus the beef my husband had he said was ok, but when it come to the serving of the vegetables I wasn't to impressed with how they had just been put in a bowl all together and didn't look to appetising I think it would have been much better if the potatoes/carrots /broccolli/cauliflower had been served on seperate bowls with a spoon/fork also they were only lukewarm, when one of our table asked for more gravy there was only one small jug brought, it would have been much better if they had,had maybe three gravy boats on the table the dessert was quite nice. When the meal was finished tea/coffee was served on pouring them out they were lukewarm also it would have been better if there was two pots of tea on the table as well as two pots of coffee and two jugs of milk or cream for the coffee . I realise the chef and catering staff have a hard job catering/serving for such large numbers but we would have enjoyed the meal/ vegetables/tea/coffee etc if it had been served much warmer and presented better could i make a suggestion on the waiting of the tables maybe it would be easier for the staff if a table of four was served by one member of staff ,a table of seven two members of staff, a table of eight or more three members of staff etc Dunsley Hall seemed a nice place to be in and the lounge we went in after our meal was cosy and pleasant to be among friends, I feel its a shame my husband and I were disappointed in our meal."
