"Today, my Mum and I went for lunch at The Jolly Woodman. We had visited back in July and enjoyed the food and warm welcome. Unfortunately, the menu had changed completely since our last visit. I had looked at the menu online beforehand, which had also changed from July, but still seemed nice with the option of standard or smaller portion sizes, perfect for my Mum. However, upon arriving, we found that the menu was completely different from what we had expected. The person who showed us the menus explained that they had just changed them. Despite this, they offered us ham, eggs, chips, and mushy peas or scampi and chips. We opted for the ham, eggs, chips, and mushy peas, priced at £13.50, and found the portion sizes generous and the meals tasty. It seemed that many other customers were also ordering the same dishes or the scampi, rather than choosing items from the new menu. The pub caters to walkers, hikers, families, workers, locals, and groups of friends, and it seems that the new menu is not in line with what people expect from The Jolly Woodman. As someone who has been visiting the pub with friends and family for over 50 years, I believe that the menu should reflect the traditional country pub atmosphere that the establishment is known for."
