"Myself and my partner were staying in the area this weekend and thoroughly W joyed our meal. We were recommended this place by some locals and thought we would give it a try. Being people who very much enjoy a curry we were not sure what to expect from a small place out in rural Somerset and we were so surprised! We loved every mouthful and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely be going back when next in the area."

"I have been taken aback by this restaurant multiple times. The service has always been top-notch. Not only do they serve large portions, but the food is consistently delicious. Their risotto is especially outstanding, but everything else is seasoned perfectly. This is true Italian cuisine, not some imitation version, and it is prepared by people who genuinely care about their food and friendly, quick service, all at a very affordable price. After hearing so many good things, I finally decided to try the restaurant for myself, and it exceeded my expectations. The ambiance is beautiful and relaxing, the staff is charming, and it is a very comfortable spot to dine alone. I returned the next day with a friend who was equally impressed. What really stood out to me were the many loyal customers, a lot of them Italian, which is always a good sign. Whether you dine in or take away, this restaurant offers a very enjoyable experience. I am hooked."

"I have to work in Somerset and Dorset occasionally and I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else, I love this hotel! The rooms are great, with some having a separate living space to where the bed is which is great for a week away from home. The mini fridge is packed full of different drinks and some chocolate. The beds are massive and very comfy. My only two complaints about the rooms are that the showers and televisions are quite old now and could do with replacing in my opinion. The hotel restaurant and bar are exquisite, the service is excellent and the menu is huge."

"We stopped at the Bull on our way home from holiday, it's in an ideal location on the main road. Staff were friendly upon arrival and we were able to sit where we wanted. Starters and mains were both very tasty, especially the tagliatelle special that we both had, lots of flavour! A very traditional village pub, felt like home. Would recommend."

"The food at this restaurant is fantastic and the staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday lunch. The pub is fully wheelchair accessible with parking available, although there is no specific disabled space. The price per person is between £10-20. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Sunday Roast."

"The restaurant had a nice decor and the servers were friendly and efficient. However, the Thai red chicken curry lacked authentic flavor and the portion size was small. The curry was not as spicy as expected. The prices were high for the portion sizes, with dishes like the small curry costing £19.00. Overall, we may hesitate before deciding to dine at this restaurant again."

"We chose Something Else as a midpoint for friends to meet, reviews suggested it would be good but lunch exceeded expectations. We both had haddock, chips and mushy peas. Wonderfully light batter on fresh haddock, brilliant chips and excellent home steeped mushy peas. Our waitress Tory was charming and efficient, the upstairs restaurant is very welcoming and a really nice place to be. If only we lived closer."

"Second time visiting. The first time was a really positive experience where we both had lovely food, however the same can’t be said this time. Once we were seated, our drinks order was taken and then we waited 30 mins for our food order to be taken. When our food order was taken, we ordered a second round of drinks which were never brought to us. The food arrived and the eggs were slimy and undercooked and the ‘muffins’ my food was served on were just burger buns which was disappointing."

"This wasn't an easy place to spot, it didn't really stand out in the street. It was a bit of a guess coming in here, but I'm glad we did. All four of us had a really delicious lunch. Three of us had sandwiches, which were generous, and came with a nice salad and crisps. (Granary) bread was tasty. I had falafel sandwich; the falafels tasted home made. One person had a falafal cum mixed salad bowl. It looked so interesting and delicious home made coleslaw, couscous salad, rice salad, variety of other ingredients, plus falafels of course. Just as well I never saw the sweet treats before I went to pay. Such a shame I'm on holiday and have no opportunity to come back!! The staff were polite and friendly."

"We visited a relative at the local hospital on Tuesday and decided to have a meal afterwards. The staff greeted us warmly, we had a nice seat by the window, and the food was excellent. I ordered a small rump steak with chips, while my husband chose the roast duck breast special. My steak was cooked perfectly blue as requested, and the chips were delicious along with the stilton sauce I added. My husband enjoyed his duck with a side of well-cooked vegetables. For dessert, we both had the Eton Mess, which was one of the best I've ever had. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. The only small criticism we had was that the dessert took nearly half an hour to arrive, but the restaurant was busy and we understand that good food takes time to prepare. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked a table for tonight and are confident that it will be just as enjoyable."

"What a great find. Menu for carnivores, like me, is really good and veggies, like my wife, get a good look in too. My scallop pad Thai was a delight. I was fully expecting rubbery scallops, but no. They melted in the mouth and the blend of spices was excellent. I want the secret of that mix. Atmosphere is great with traditional decor. We felt quite young as the Over Stratton over 85s group was in. One actually apologised about the noise they had been making as they all have hearing problems. Staff very pleasant too. Just one very very very small thing though. You really don't have to bless me every time you visit the table. We will definitely be back."

"Hands down the best pizza delivery I have ever had! Absolutely incredible! I ordered the 14” vegan Margherita with extra olives, spinach, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and sweet corn. It was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be ordering from here again many times in the future."

"I had never been to The Orchard before, but I had heard great things about it. I am happy to say that it lived up to the reputation. We visited on a Wednesday for their curry night and it was fantastic. There was a nice variety of flavorful curries to choose from. In addition to the curry night special, they were also serving their regular menu, which some of our group opted for. The portions were generous, especially with the main menu dishes being larger. The value was exceptional as the curries were buy one get one free. We enjoyed our experience so much that we plan to return for their burger night, also featuring a buy one get one free deal. The price per person was between £1-10. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere all deserve a perfect rating of 5."

"A group of 4 of us ate in on a Sunday evening whilst staying in the area, attracted by the BYO facility. Tbh, we weren 't expecting too much from such a small unassuming place with 4 tables in a shopping area. How wrong we were! We often go for a curry and can honestly say this was probably the best we 've had! A great selection of delicious curries, we had Sikander Badi Lamb, which was so tender it fell off the bone, Moglai chicken containing large chunks of succulent 'real ' chicken (as oppose to preformed chicken, which you often get), a Lamb Tikka Roshni with lovely tender and lean lamb pieces, and a Chicken Tikka Mahkany, all very well presented. The rice was fluffy and light, I particularly liked the coconut rice and my friend loved the vegetable rice, with proper chunks of veg in it. The garlic nan bread was cut up nicely for us to share, bombay potatoes were lovely large spiced chunks and the poppadums were large and crispy, as were the onion bhajis. Portions were huge and they kindly provided boxes/bags to take our leftovers away. Even tho it was a small informal place, they kept standards high with pristine white linen table cloths and napkins. We brought beer and wine with us (no corkage) and bought some soft drinks there. The bill for the 4 of us arrived with chocolate mints and hot towels and came to around £98 (no tip added, so we left our own, as we received good and friendly service). Payment by cash or cheque only. We will certainly be eating here if we are in the area again!"
"I had never been to this restaurant before, but I will definitely be returning. The staff were very efficient and friendly. They had a good selection of beers with clean pipes, as well as a variety of other drink options. The menu had a wide enough selection to please everyone. I enjoyed a tasty pizza (although the base could have been a bit crispier), while my husband had the haddock and chips. He loved every item on his plate – including the mushy peas, tartare sauce, chips, and fish. We both had a rocket and Parmesan side salad, which consisted of a quarter packet of rocket topped with plenty of Parmesan flakes and a delicious dressing. My only complaint was that I ordered two double espressos and they came with petit fours, costing £5 each. We were under the impression that the petits fours were complimentary, so we were surprised when we received the bill. Despite this, we chose not to complain as we had already enjoyed the meal and the extras. Overall, a great dining experience, although receiving the petit fours without the option for just coffee felt a bit cheeky."

"My husband and I went to the halfway on our way home as we thought it was a dog friendly pub. We have 2 dogs, one confident and rarely barks, and the other one who is very nervous, but we have been working with her to build her confidence. Our dog had been doing really well at The Pound in Aller and the Prince Alfred at Burrowbridge, so we wanted to widen her experience. We chose the Halfway House at Langport, as we saw on line, it was dog friendly. Sadly as my dog, although I was using training techniques to try to calm her, when a couple came to sit near us, our nervous dog, was more nervous. The couple were lovely and continued to talk to us while we calmed our dog, understanding she was scared. Sadly the bar staff spoke to us, and said, your dog is barking, people are eating. I could not do more than I was to mange the training, so told the bar person, we would finish our drinks and leave. He said, it wasn’t him, it was everyone else. This was not very helpful. The people we were taking to said they often have evenings when they have lots of dogs and they can become barky and hoped they would see us again. We will not be going back again, some pubs are child friendly and you expect some noise from children, I thought a dog friendly pub would understand some noise from dogs, especially those who the owner is trying to help increase their confidence. We understand the establishment can decide who they want in their business. I thought we were going to be in a pub who understood nervous dogs, but this was not the case. We now understand the owners want to allow dogs, not not nervous dogs. This is a lovely pub, but only wants quiet dogs."

"We were there the Saturday before Christmas and it was busy with both small and large groups. On arrival we were shown straight to a table. The service was attentive and the food arrived in good time, we weren't made to feel rushed at all. For starter I had fritto misto, white bait, calamari and prawns, chap had butterflied King prawns in garlic, for mains I had salmon, chap had spaghetti and meatballs. Good portion size and absolutely delicious and all washed down with a very pleasant house white wine. As luck would have it there was a singer, he performed mostly modern songs and some classics. It was quite noisy but not so loud we couldn't hear each other. Lively place with a lovely atmosphere."
