"We visited today with our 2 young children. The 'soft play ' area is a fenced off carpeted area with a few totally filthy sofas and some toys- almost all of which are broken, missing pieces, ran out of battery, etc. Some complete puzzles are nailed to the wall, but confusingly so high up to be out of most childrens reach. Lots and lots of clearly 2nd/3rd/4th hand/ fit for the dump plastic slides, pushalongs etc, plus a small wooden playhouse with badly splintered wood and clearly visible screws. The slide on it had a large and sharp crack in the side. Needless to say we didnt stay very long. I did purchase a small item for my daughter and while waiting in the queue I heard the woman taking the order be INCREDIBLY rude to the ladies she was serving. They asked, very politely and reasonably, if a dish could be altered slightly and was told 'No. Im the cook and no way. ' They then asked for an Oasis drink. She said 'Well yeah you can get that yourself cause like I 'm pregnant! Now is that it? '. I personally worked a very physically demanding job until well into my 3rd trimester- with both children, as was my choice. If the woman serving felt that walking 8 steps to her right and opening a fridge to lift a small bottle from an elbow height shelf was physically beyond her then perhaps she needs to consider whether shes fit to be at work at all. If I 'd been spoken to that I would have cancelled the entire order (of considerable size, at over £40) and just left. Pregnant or not, there was no excuse for being that rude. Be warned, this isnt soft play- its like a graveyard for rejected, old, sad and broken toys, and its filthy. Some of the items inside looked like they hadnt even had a cursory wipe in at least 6 months! Both children will no doubt both have colds in a few days time. Avoid!"

"The name of this tea room definitely stood out on the map of Weymouth! I looked it up before I came and read excellent reviews....and here's another! I was especially interested to read that they are very considerate of special diets and having had lunch here 2 days in a row during my short break, I can confirm this to be true. This tea room is very popular and it's easy to see why! It can be difficult to get a table but I was lucky on my 2 visits. You're given a very warm welcome on arrival and then you choose where you'd like to sit. It's table service here and they take payment as soon as you've finished placing your order. On my first visit, a member of staff made time to answer my questions about potential allergens in items on the menu despite it being so busy. They have a very extensive menu here. NOTE: The vegan cheese they use here is Violife. The chips are cooked separately from other menu items. The ham is from a local butcher. This information helped me make an informed decision and I was comfortably able to choose things to eat. The portions are very generous and everything was absolutely delicious! I didn't have to wait long for my order on both occasions. The tea room is in a lovely location opposite the sea front. I loved it here and I highly recommend it! I'll definitely be back should I have an opportunity to visit Weymouth again in the future. Absolutely fantastic!"

"Well. Just went for lunch at the Pulllpit on Portland and I have to say it was simply the worst experience ever. The staff serving were really good however the leaseholder, Debbie was so rude. We ordered at 2.10 and 50 mins later we recieved part of our order of 2 kids chicken nuggets and chips 1 ham and mustard sandwich. We then waited a further 10 mins b4 going to find put where the other order of chicken nuggets and chips were. Add to that the bread was not fresh. My son in law ordered and paid for his my daughters and kids food immediately after I did and at 3 they also had no food. We both went in to find out where our food was and rest of my order and the leaseholder, Debbie, came out and shouted at us both. She claimed that we had to wait she had 25 orders b4 us, even though the pub was quiet. I asked where the rest of my order was and was told it was there waiting in the serving hatch. I questioned it as we ordered nuggets not strips and was told tough. My son in law was rudly told he had to wait they were busy. He questioned this as he had hungry children and again he was rudly told to wait so he asked for a refund so he could take hid children for lunch. I also asked for refund for the missing part of my order. Debbie told my son i law he was not having a full refund as she had cooked some of it. He said he wanted a refund and was again rudly told no and told her bar man he was night to give a refund and refused to give him the codefor machine to process it and gave staff the sandwi h my son in law ordered to serve to him. He ate part of it and then noticed green stuff on the bread. S vliser look reveiled mould.he took said sandwich back and again Debbie said no to a refund and he was lying as bread was fresh daily. So hetokd her to look at the mouldy bread. She told him she did not care he was not having a refund. The man then tried to give a cash refund out of his own pocket. During this time another couple also ask for a partial refund because of poor food and kitchen service. The bar man again offered a partial refund out of his pocket shocking service."

"I booked a table for 10 people for Saturday 27th of January for my birthday and 2 of my friends. When we arrived the table didn’t even seat 10 people like what I booked for. We had to pull about extra chairs. I wanted to confirm the table was booked for 10 people all week and left several voicemails on the slug and lettuce phone and no one called me back. I did end up having confirmation the table was for 10 people from a friend that worked there. So never received a call back. My friend wasn’t on shift that night otherwise I’m sure our experience would have been a lot more of a positive one. She’s lovely! But the night we had was no so great, it took at least 30 mins to get a drink, food was an hour wait and people around us was complaining it was cold. One of my friends who’s birthdays if was received a free drink for their birthday but myself and my other friend didn’t. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, most of which didn’t have toilet roll and some didn’t even have a toilet seat. They was not clean either. We then asked for a cocktail tree but was told we couldn’t have it because there wasn’t enough staff to make it! There was 3 members of staff on a busy Saturday night, there should of been more staff to cater for how many bookings there clearly was. There was several other birthdays in there and were clearly struggling to serve everyone, I would understand if we just turned up but this was pre booked and therefore should of been catered for. Overall service was very slow, we was not appropriately catered for and was just disappointed as this was for my birthday and 2 of my close friends. Worse experience in there by far."
