"disappointed as much as the hype for the place was high. not bad, but given the reviews, the IG page, and various opinions collected here and there, I arrived at the place full of expectations. Let 's start with the appetizers: donut-shaped omelette and Genoese gyoza. the presentation and the idea of the omelette are very nice, but what matters is the tasting and unfortunately it didn 't immediately give a good impression. the breading completely separated from the rest and the inside was not creamy, but more tending towards pasty. Despite this, the flavor wasn 't absolutely bad, but it 's not an omelette worth trying. The parmesan cream that accompanied it was good, however. Genoese gyoza are fried and here too the idea is good, but it is lost in the final result. too dry, not enough filling and above all: where is the onion? one person at the table believed it was with pulled pork and not Genoese. there was only meat inside and it didn 't happen in just one, but in all. Let 's move on to the sandwiches now. the choice is wide and many combinations are well studied and captivating. However, I don 't understand how it is possible that by ordering on a Wednesday evening at 8.30pm the chicken breast is already finished, and I don 't understand why it says hamburger on the menu (or even when the waitress came to warn and propose alternatives). of chicken if in reality it is a BREADED, FRIED product and above all which has nothing of a hamburger feel to it, but rather a larger nugget. despite this blow, trust is not lost, but as regards the same sandwich in question, it also arrived incorrectly, with unsolicited ingredients (the sandwich had been made). they fix it quickly. the famous chicken burger which was actually breaded and fried, among other things, had the breading soaked in oil and somewhat ruined the rest of the ingredients. bread, bacon, baked potatoes and everything else was good. the good quality of the ingredients was also noticeable in the other sandwiches, except for the scottona. my partner chose a sandwich with scottona, but: either she was served other meat, or the quality was low, because the flavor didn 't match in the slightest. the fries which were taken separately because only some sandwiches include accompanying fries (but they are like five in cash), no big deal. overall it 's a good sandwich and a good place, above satisfactory, but not by much, in fact there 's no need to return, just having tried it once is enough. "These were not the burger patties we're used to in Aus, in a good way! The marchigiana burger patty was processed to the consistency of a flat sausage, which was still very tasty but we could barely recognise the beef or how it was apparently cooked to medium doneness. The agerola provola was smoked cheese served warm, overflowing, and melting-soft, and the buns were soft and enormous. The burgers were twice the size of what we expected and we could only eat half before taking the rest home. We could have easily shared a single burger between us. We had the Mama 02, which was an eggplant parmigiana with a patty. It was delicious but also tasted more like a parmigiana than a burger. The Mama Pippo was unexpected. It had TWO patties on either end, something that the menu didn't mentioned. It also had delicious bacon, and a tomato-lettuce salad to balance all the meat. It was honestly too large to take a bite off of and had to be cut with a fork and knife. Service was quick and wait staff explained the ingredients patiently, as we were confused with the types of beef and cheese. If you're craving a quick, tasty burger, Mama is a good place for it. Just mind the ingredients on the Mama homemade ones, which can be non-standard, and also the very generous serves. Note that they had a non-burger menu which seemed affordable, too, in case you wanted something other than burgers."

"Having lived in this wonderful city for a year, it seems odd that burgers, chips and other great inventions such as the loaded hot dog, chicken and waffles, pulled pork burritos and seitan burgers are not really being cooked with any consistent appreciation or quality in a city that loves its belly. True, one might never need stray from the home base that is the ubiquitous and eternal pizza and pasta which I assume is what they serve in heaven (watch the 2 popes for further evidence). However, what Marco is doing at Coney Island deserves recognition, as it is fresh (I believe nearly everything comes from the nearby Mercato Trionfale which is probably the best fresh food market in town), cooked with love and, let's face it, Marco is just a great guy! His fries are especially good, thin, a little crispy but still with a fluffy middle, and I particularly look forward to chicken and waflles (but ring ahead if you want this as he sometimes needs time to get the ingredients to you). But isn't that the essence of great street food, not only the food but creating a vibe and a relationship with the customer, so nothing is wasted and everyone, including the planet, wins? In an age where the Billionaires of the world are deciding to leave us to our fate and find other lifeforms in the universe to massage their egos, it makes me feel good that Coney Island is 2 metro stops and a Whatsapp message away. Forget about your troubles and stop by for an hour!"
