"we wanted to eat in the other restaurant behind the cable car and in front of the church. but my man discovered it while we explore the way behind the church and we decided to eat there. there are many tables in the garden of the hotel, and there is a magnificent view of the hills, all the way to the coast! we got a table without booking and had to wait one to be given the menu and then order. my man had an salate and decided to have pasta with ragu. the salate was very good, the pasta was in order. I didn't know it was only with chop meat and without tomato sauce, plus it had nelken in him that spoiled my taste, but I managed to almost finish it. inexpensive I would say it is in the typical selection for this part of ital salads and simple net around 13 15 euro not exactly cheap, but this is very tourist place, so it is quite normal. the service was a bit slow, I had to ask the young waiter twice to bring the menu while he passed our table every two minutes. then I asked him about the Wifi password, but he said he didn't know. I will give him the advantage of the doubt. the older waiter was very polite and friendly and thanked us warmly. Do not forget that in italia smoking is allowed and italian smoking is quite much (compare to Britain), so if they are not smoker, they always run the risk of sitting close to smoking when they eat outside. Overall, this restaurant is worth a visit, so they enjoy eating and the intention. P.S. would you please feed the cats? they were all thin and I'm sure they left a lot of food."

"This place was my ancestral home and so the commentary may include some bias. My Italian cousins found the place while looking for a missing painting. The painting is still missing but we found this majestic and perfect villa with an accompanying landscape marked by...lavender, rosemary, fruit filled trees, oranges, lemons, tomatoes and vineyards. Needless to say the wine was magnificent. The red was my favorite but everyone also seemed to enjoy the white. Upon arrival we were greeted by Grazia who could not have been more accommodating. A true professional with regards to customer service. Everywhere we turned the beauty of the place and the landscape was mesmerizing. The air was filled with all these wonderful scents and the architectural splendor of the villa and surrounding buildings melted perfectly into the landscape. The current owners restored this place to its former glory and actually improved upon it because everything works perfectly well now. One can see there was a great deal of time and effort dedicated to this place and a thoughtful restoration was performed. The rooms are large. The bathrooms are great and the beds are comfortable. The dinner consisted of an antipasto, a soup course, a pasta course and the secondo which was usually a meat dish. The finale was a dessert and the wine flowed. You will definitely want to eat at least breakfast and dinner at the Torraccia because it is up on top of the hill. I would not drive the gravel road at night. It is basically a one lane road. I had a Smart Car and it was fine but not to be driven late at night. The staff gives you a big glass bottle of water at night with glasses and a friendly buon riposo. In the morning the breakfast consists of meats, breads, homemade jams, fruit salad, croissants, homemade tortes, cheeses, cereal and yogourt. There is clearly something for everyone. One negative....in a land of excellent coffee the coffee was american style. I asked for an espresso and it was decent but not great. Another small negative is the hair dryer. You will have a challenge trying to style your hair with this unit because as soon as you pull on it it goes on and then when it slacks it shuts itself off. I pulled my hair back in a ponytail after trying the first day to dry it. When you are there, the pool is great. I went for a AM swim and San Gimignano is in the background. What a great workout. Do NOT miss San Gimignano, or Siena. Siena's Piazza del Campo is the most beautiful piazza in all the world, second is the Pantheon in Roma. I took my daughter to Volterra and we enjoyed both the drive and the town. I left the Torraccia at AM and was at the Rome Train Station at AM. It is an easy ride on the (Florence to Rome toll road). The owners of the Torraccia are incredibly hospitable and regal in nature and I was honored to have met them. I know they deserve this special place and by welcoming others make the experience more globally appreciated. They are the perfect family to carry on the wonderful traditions my own family enjoyed for centuries here. I highly recommend the agriturismo for anyone wanting to relax amidst the Tuscan countryside."
