"My partner and I were walking around Roma when it started pouring rain like hell. We ran and hid wherever we could and searched on Google Maps the closest restaurant with vegan options. We found this place, and we made it, soaked to the core. Little did we know that would be the best meal we'd have in all our trip. We had vegan carbonara spaghetti, and I don't lie when I say that it was better than any carbonara I've had in my life. The mile foglie desert was also finger-licking good! "Ordered steak that was basically killed twice that's how overcooked it was. Diavola and calzone were the only saving grace. Everything else I'd never order again especially a steak (di mazno as the owner is trying to say I meant the 16 euro steak. Di mazno is clearly steak as well) that's 22 euros comes with no sides and you're never asked how you'd like it prepared. I've never been somewhere where the default wellness is well done. Good views have to be for the place next door on accident. Service charge for a sleeping infant is insulting too as she was in a kangaroo carrier and took up no space and required no service. "Cibo buono con una vista incredibile sul Colosseo, non così turistico come ci si potrebbe aspettare a così poca distanza da un monumento importante. Si trova in una strada leggermente più tranquilla, lontana dal vivace centro città. Questo posto ha tutti i classici che ci si aspetta da un ristorante a Roma e li prepara bene. Il personale è cordiale e rilassato, e il cibo è all'altezza. Gustare della pasta mentre si ammira il Colosseo accompagnata da un bicchiere di vino rosso è un'esperienza fantastica. "Il tiramisù è come una piccola fetta d'Italia in bocca. Non avevamo nemmeno programmato di venire qui, e siamo così grati di averlo fatto! Eravamo venuti per una margherita eppure il dessert ci ha lasciati senza parole! Questo tiramisù era davvero STRAORDINARIO! È stata decisamente una situazione da sciogliersi in bocca e non penso che avremmo potuto trovare nulla di meglio! Il servizio era 11/10, tutti erano così gentili e premurosi e si sono interessati che fossimo lì a mangiare! C'era un'atmosfera così divertente! "I am visiting Rome for the first time and while I don’t Mind Italian food, it has never really been my first choice. I had a few decent Italian dishes while on a food tour so on the last day of my trip I decided I would try an Italian restaurant as my grand finale. After reviewing different menus within the square, and being invited into them, I decided I would try Virgilio. The hostess who was outside soliciting customers was nice and about to seat me at a table and a man with a white shirt with black tie who I had seen at the tables while I had been in the square stopped her. In Italian, he told her something and with a stern face shook his head. She then turned to me with a disappointed face (as if not wanting to upset me) but situationally aware, I understood that he did not want me there. I looked at him and simply said: “Don’t worry about it.” and walked away because I refuse to beg someone to provide a service that I would be paying for. I walked around for a few minutes but wanted management aware of what had happened so I returned. It was then that another young lady who was serving tables advised me that He (the man who denied my seating) Was the manager (so I knew that my complaint would be falling on deaf ears and I left. I am rather disappointed because I did not have breakfast with the intention of having a hearty lunch before my evening flight. This was a rather unfortunate irreparable experience."

"Mia moglie ed io siamo venuti qui due volte più di 10 anni fa durante il nostro ultimo viaggio in Italia. Ci è piaciuto così tanto che abbiamo dovuto tornare per vedere se fosse ancora all'altezza. È ancora molto buono, forse un po' diverso da come lo ricordavo, ma potrebbe essere solo un effetto dei ricordi idealizzati. La nostra bambina di 8 anni ha divorato 3/4 di una torta in pochi minuti. Considerando che di solito impiega un'ora per finire la cena ogni sera, è davvero impressionante! Il personale è sempre cordiale e l'arredamento è quello standard di una pizzeria. Opzioni vegetariane: ci sono molte opzioni vegetariane. Parcheggio: è molto difficile trovare parcheggio in questa zona. Adatto ai bambini: i bambini sono i benvenuti."

"Avoid at all costs if you're coeliac Gluten Free. Ordered a takeaway gluten free Margherita and asked twice (once to a waiter and once to the manager) and they confirmed twice this was gluten free. Upon eating it around the corner we thought it was too good to be gluten free. So we returned to the restaurant to ask the waiter out the front and he confirmed straight away it WAS NOT gluten free. Offered no refund but they made us a new gf pizza but I don't know if we even should eat it now because how careless they were. Waiter was apologetic but manager couldn't care less and didn't even give eye contact. Hope my wife doesn't get sick now as we play russian roulette. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!"

"I highly recommend it! During a short visit to Rome, we visited this place twice. A huge selection of food for people on a gluten-free diet (the first two pizzas in the photo are gluten-free my mother recommends!! . Everything was delicious, pizza, burgers, lasagna, even the orange juice delighted me And the service was incredibly nice! "Coming by chance as neighbors, we appreciated the very warm welcome from the 2 young waiters, we discovered the Roman artichokes there, and in retrospect, they were the best of the whole week! It was still cool in mid-March to enjoy the terrace in the evening but it is well located outside the passing routes, you can eat there in peace. Note, rather local clientele, which changes from the places referenced in the tourist guides where the atmosphere is rushed very often. Not much dessert besides ice cream but the homemade tiramisu is enough in itself. If I were to go back to Rome, this would be the first place I would eat! "Abbiamo visitato questo ristorante durante il nostro soggiorno a Roma dopo aver letto così tante recensioni positive, ma siamo rimasti un po' delusi. È piuttosto turistico, ma se è il tuo stile, non è un brutto posto dove andare! Mio marito ha ordinato spaghetti e polpette, mentre io ho scelto la carbonara. La carbonara era lontana dall'essere la migliore che abbia mai mangiato durante il mio soggiorno a Roma: non c'era niente di speciale! Le porzioni erano molto generose, alcune delle più grandi che abbia mai visto durante la mia permanenza qui (personalmente non sono riuscita nemmeno a finire la mia pasta!). Il servizio era affrettato per gli standard italiani, ma abbastanza comparabile al servizio negli Stati Uniti."

"A place with a reputation and an extremely touristy place. Very spicy chicory, a dish of PEPPER with pasta with cheese and a gricia with overcooked rigatoni (heresy in Italy) with soft and very poor quality bacon... all in a tasteless water (like broth) that doesn 't exist nothing comes in with the recipe. As for the staff: the annoyed, unclear boy who started arguing with his colleague in front of everyone about their organizational problems for the tables. Unfortunately it is one of those places that I will eliminate forever from my list of Roman trattorias. An indecency. Be wary of the queues in front of the restaurant (almost all foreigners) and the rating on Google. About pizza... I don 't know since I haven 't tried it, but the trattoria and the Roman cuisine are decidedly low quality. Too bad, years ago it wasn 't like this!!"

"Ho trovato questo posto dopo aver attraversato un bel vicolo mentre tornavamo da un tour. L'area del patio all'esterno sembrava affascinante e invitante. Il menù era un po' costoso, ma abbiamo deciso di provare. Siamo stati sistemati all'interno. C'erano bottiglie di vino sulle pareti e l'atmosfera era piacevole. Il cameriere era cordiale, il che ha reso l'ambiente accogliente all'inizio. Il cameriere ci ha portato del pane, che pensavamo fosse inizialmente gratuito, dato che in alcuni ristoranti in cui siamo stati non lo addebitavano. Non era gratis, il cameriere non ci ha detto nulla e lo abbiamo scoperto solo alla fine con il conto, ed è stato sfortunato perché lo avremmo rifiutato. Abbiamo deciso di ordinare come antipasto il polpo in stile Luciano e come piatti principali gli gnocchi al sugo di pomodoro e pancetta e gli spaghetti con le vongole, insieme a 2 bicchieri di vino. Il cibo è stato deludente. L'antipasto di polpo non era buono, era gommoso e semplicemente non sapeva di niente. Non siamo riusciti a finirlo e ci siamo sentiti male per questo, perché non ci piace sprecare cibo. Il mio partner ha preso gli gnocchi e ha detto che erano nella media, mentre i miei spaghetti con le vongole erano più spaghetti che altro e avevano a malapena vongole. Le vongole erano estremamente piccole e metà dei gusci erano vuoti. Era anche insipido. Sulla bolletta c'era una tassa di copertura elevata e si aspettavano una mancia, richiedendola espressamente, che io non ho dato. Erano l'unico ristorante a richiedere una mancia tra tutti i posti in cui ho mangiato in Italia. L'uomo sembrava scontento e infelice quando ho pagato solo il conto alto, che non valeva assolutamente la pena. Non raccomanderei affatto questo posto. Fate attenzione ai costi aggiuntivi sul conto. Il mio conto è salito a 90 euro con tutto."
