"Too expensive to be so simple. With two modest first courses (both in presentation and seasoning) and a grill for one divided in two (with 4 scampi and 2 cuttlefish) and a bottle of natural water to drink, we spent €64 in total, for two. Even though the fish was fresh, for how we ate in terms of quantity, plating and service, it was really overpriced. It would have been a good restaurant if we had spent half as much."

"I rarely write reviews, I'll start by saying that the boy who takes the orders and explains the pasta making process was wonderfully welcoming, the girl who welcomed us was very sweet and thoughtful. The staff are the ones who give the first impressions of the place. The food is really varied and very good. The starters arrived hot and also plentiful. The first courses were very good, only the squid ink pasta was a little salty. Clean place. Let me start by saying that we arrived just before opening, 7.45pm, and they kindly let us sit. I send the photos. The place is highly recommended we took the 15 eur menu excluding drinks. We paid 32 euros per couple. There were 4 of us. Super recommended place. "Diner like place. Good enough for lunch when other restaurants closed. But I would go for other options otherwise. Completely butchered the octopus that died in vain. Salad is of fast food quality but good to satisfy a vegetarian. On a good note, service was quite amicable, people are very accommodating seems like a restaurant owner should watch some good TV cooking shows to bring the level of cooking up. Probably i was spoiled by delicious food of Palermo and Trapani, hence a subpar review. But we are in Italy after all..."

"Siamo andati qui su consiglio delle persone del nostro hotel, La Bollina, in una serata di lunedì quando la maggior parte dei ristoranti sono chiusi, e siamo contenti di esserci andati nonostante le recensioni miste. Alla fine abbiamo ordinato il menu di selvaggia (Menu di selvaggia a 27 euro a persona) ed è stato fantastico: terrina di fagiano, tagiolini con salsa di lepre e cinghiale con polenta. Eccellente! Questo era un menu fisso con una scelta di dessert, e abbiamo preso la panna cotta, che aveva una salsa simile al caramello. Anche il loro prosecco era ottimo."

"Very good restaurant. We took à la carte and were placed on the 2nd floor (I didn't understand this floor thing). Well if you want to have the view it's during the day, in the evening you don't see anything. Otherwise, very good meal, quality, service and friendliness are present. The only downside, the desert (cheesecake) which was certainly frozen and therefore still frozen in the middle... too bad. But the rest of the meal was very good! Food: 4"

"Il mio ragazzo mi ha portato qui a sorpresa per il mio compleanno e siamo stati entrambi soddisfatti. Ci hanno dato il benvenuto con un omaggio dello chef: porcini fritti. Abbiamo mangiato un antipasto di insalata di polpo e patate. Io ho scelto un primo piatto di pasta con le vongole e abbiamo condiviso un fritto di calamari, accompagnato da un ottimo Pigato. Con dolce e limoncello, la cena è stata fantastica. Servizio attento e veloce, e il locale ha uno stile molto accogliente. Sono sicuro che in estate la vista sulla spiaggia sia praticamente sul mare, il che rende ancora più bella la location. Prezzi onesti e personale molto gentile, lo consiglio vivamente!"

"Se vuoi mangiare pesce e sentirti coccolato come a casa, non perdere il ristorante 'Al Vagon'. I tavoli sono posizionati lungo un canale e verrai accolto dalla giovane signora che ti consiglierà ottimi piatti di pesce fresco! Abbiamo mangiato in tre come antipasto: granchio, cannolicchi alla griglia e una selezione di formaggi (per il mio amico che non mangia pesce); come primo piatto abbiamo scelto in due gli spaghetti al nero di seppia (deliziosi e abbondanti!) e una porzione di gnocchi (fatti in casa! Gusto di pomodoro che sa di cena a casa della nonna!) Soddisfatti dai piatti salati, abbiamo optato per il dessert: il tiramisù è incredibile e la crema caramellata...cosa dire...non potevamo non incontrare la madre del proprietario per complimentarci con lei! Che bello sapere che ci sono ancora ristoranti come questo!"

L The crusty bread with stracciatella and Cantabrian anchovies and almonds was very good but also a little expensive but the homemade tagliatelle marinara was a disappointment. This restaurant now belongs to Raffaella and Milo. The seafood is extraordinary and I believe the Chef is the same one as the old place. Fresh seafood cooked to perfection. And Raffaella is a real sweetheart attentive and warm. Highly recommend this rather than any seafood restaurants on the water front. It is not located in the touristy area which is even better. Can't wait to return there!"

"Went to lunch Sunday about 1pm. Have not been inside this building since it was Mi Ranchito Mexican restaurant years ago. The interior has been nicely changed to a very comfortable bar and dinning area. We had a very nice waitress who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Sunday special which is a smaller portion of spaghetti with one large meatball for only $3.50. We also ordered a pizza with cheese and fresh basil. 15 minutes after our order was placed we found out from the waitress they had run out of fresh basil. Instead they offered dried basil as an alternative. The pizza then came out way to quick and a less than hot. Making us suspect it was already started before we found out about the basil, but that's just a feeling. The spaghetti was good and the total bill very reasonable. Our biggest concern was if they just opened and had no fresh basil how many other recipes suffered without it. If it was my restaurant I would have sent someone across the street to Hardings to buy some. Maybe they don't use fresh herbs? I guess we expected more from an Italian restaurant that has two locations. After my review I did hear from the owner about the basil and I am always impressed with owners who take the time to reply. Thank you for the explanation about the fresh basil."

"Truffa per turisti, abbiamo scelto di cenare in questo locale perchè attirati dal menu posizionato a 20 metri sul lungo mare. Dal menu si evinceva che il locale offrisse piatti tipici di pesce. All ' ingresso dopo aver aspettato giustamente 20 minuti, in quanto non avevamo prenotato, ci sediamo e constatiamo che i 5/6 piatti tipici di pesce non sono piu disponibili. Siamo stati costretti a prendere una pizza che potevamo prendere anche in un altro locale, anche perché, dopo averla assaggiata alla modica cifra di 9.50€ definita pizza speciale al salmone e zucchine), mi chiedo come sia possibile proporla nel menù, in quanto da napoletano, anzi da italiano, mangiare una pizza con zucchine sott 'aceto è inquietante. Pizza come potete immaginare, rancida, lasciata quindi li. Per finire, cameriere scortese e arrogante."

"This is a superb restaurant only ten minutes walk from the Punta Sabbione waterbus terminal. We pitched up at 13:00 for lunch and were chuffed to find the restaurant full to the brim of locals tucking in, and we were happy to sit and wait ten minutes with a beer for a table to become available. We had a delightful first course of spaghetti and clams, followed by the best Fritto Misto ever. €45,00 a head to include beer, wine with the meal, mineral water, desserts and an espresso each. Free limoncello too! The perfect birthday lunch for the boss! The restaurant has a much cheaper daily menu which is what most of the locals seemed to be choosing from. Don 't eat in Venice. Have a great trip out on the waterbus, and a wonderful seafood lunch at fair and reasonable prices."
