"Been here many times while living in Ely and always enjoyed my visits . They sell craft keg beer which I enjoy and I use to encourage other people to visit so they could grow the craft beer scene in Ely . Unfortunately I'm very honest and open person and I queried once why they stock to much lager on when they want to be recognised as a craft beer tap room . Well that was it the owner got rude sarcastic and scary on Facebook with me and deleted and blocked my honest open posts . So alas my memory's of this place are not so good , the staff are great and don't reflect my review . If you like English tea house serving high tea coffee cakes nitro coffee and beer your love this place. I've left Ely so maybe my opinion means nothing but I felt I needed to write this review to reflect a fair and open society. If people accept praise then they should be able to take the bad as well god I know I do."

They have the best hot chocolate to warm you up on a chilly day. Friendly staff and a good welcome.

A warm welcome and not chocolate! Choices abound for seating areas and food, but when it comes to real ales, or craft beers I believe they’re now labelled, this is heaven. Only popped in for a hot chocolate but came out with, well, a few beers!

Mainly been here for the craft ales and whatnot, a good varied selection. There's also a café. Only stopped here the once for the latter, and it was very quiet. But all in all, one of the many and varied attractions to be enjoyed in good ol' Ely.

Four of us visited Ely and stopped off for lunch at this eatery come off licence. We were helped by a very knowledgable member of staff on both the menu and drinks selection. The location is just off the main square down a pedestrian alley, we sat outside with a lovely view and soaked up the atmosphere.

What a gem; this place is amazing as are the super staff. Beer drinkers heaven with well over 100 to chose from in bottles and cans plus some great draught beers. Come here every year around my birthday and never fail to be made very welcome. Heartily recommend paying this place a visit and its only 150m from Ely Cathedral.

We chose this delightful little place to sample the craft beer. The choice is amazing and they also serve lovely gin and specialist tonics. Would highly recommend the bodicea local gin with the elderflower and cucumber tonic. It was so refreshing and gorgeous. We had pork pie baskets and sandwiches. All the food was delicious and our super friendly waitress made our lunch perfect.

An impromptu light lunch lead to me stopping off here recently. I don’t think I made the best choice: pork and egg pie, the accompanying salad was overdressed for my liking I would normally expect this to be served on the side. There is a good range of alternative dishes in this friendly and clean establishment. The car park off Broad Street is very convenient; walk to the top and 3At3 is at the top of the lane. Alternatively, walk through Three Cups Walk at the top of Fore Hill. It’s worth noting that all parking is free in a Ely though there are restrictions on length of parking, so check the signage.

We happened across this cafe we don't know Ely at all but came to see the cathedral. Anyway the lunch we had was really nice and the staff were lovely, very friendly. They also sell local beer and cider, an amazing selection. My only criticism would be that we bought a couple of beers to take home and did explain that one of them needed to be gluten free. We went on their advice but when we got home it wasn't in fact gluten free so my partner was a bit disappointed he couldn't drink it. All the more for me but really they should have advised us better. However, I still feel it is a nice place so please go!

"We were here for a family reunion on Fathers Day. I was going to give 3 stars but having had no response to 2 feedback emails that I sent I have downgraded it. This is the honest feedback that I sent: I’d like to thank you for your help in putting our family meet together. We were pleased with the comfort and ambience of the area where we were sat. We also felt the staff were pleasant and courteous. The meals and the drinks received a mixed feedback. We felt that the vegetables and sauces were very good although a group of 4 were given a small dish of green vegetables to share. Some time later a request for more green vegetables was dealt with but the timing was not good. The fish and chips were commonly well received. I’m afraid that the other aspects of food and drink and most importantly ORGANISATION were poor. When we arrived a waiter came over to take orders of the people that had not placed an advanced order. 2 people at one end of the table asked about the ordered drinks and had to say what they ordered and their order was delivered. I was a little concerned that 2 coffees ordered for the sweets of Peter and Jenny were bought with those 2 drinks but they seemed OK with taking them then and despite all the complaints in this email I don’t want to find fault. At my end of the table the waiter told me that he would come to me with my order but he must have forgotten. Starters were brought for those few that ordered them and a waitress eventually came through to enquire if everyone was OK. I said me and my wife were still waiting for our drinks order. After another 10 minutes someone cam back with the 2 decaf flat whites that we ordered for the end of the meal. Unfortunately the waiter, who was clearly distressed to be told to take them back and bring the correct drinks order, wished to engage with me in a disagreement about where the fault for this lay in front of all my family. This did upset me. Eventually my ale and my wife’s wine was delivered to us – it had taken over 90 minutes to arrive and both the ale was tainted and the red wine not pleasant. In addition the 2 pre ordered drinks were brought for a second time! The poor organisation also meant the meals did not arrive in good time. After nearly 2 hours most people had not had a bite to eat. The meat was very poor. The beef was inedible (very tough) and the poor standards of both meats was fed back to a waitress. By the time that sweets arrived staff was particularly flustered. The sweets came so late that 3 of the people that had ordered ice creams had to leave to catch their train. Again our drinks were forgotten so I asked for the 2 decaf flat whites. These were eventually brought but they were luke warm. My wife felt embarrassed for the staff so she drunk hers anyway as she did not want another accusatory conversation in front of our group. I had to ask for mine to be replaced as I felt that it was unpleasant. That concludes my feedback although I should say that there were other deficiencies. You have been warned!"
