"There was a lot to tell. Despite the weekly phone calls with Opi Hartwig, there was a lot more to tell, especially when we sit at the breakfast table for five. So in Opi Hartwig's beautiful garden there was an extensive and long breakfast, so we would rather miss our usual lunch. But as soon as we were looking for lunch in Burg for our friends, the idea was to take a small coffee drink in the early afternoon. I spontaneously received the “Allee Café” in Katharinenhof. On many portals and social networks, the café is praised over everything, especially its wind bag. So the café for me as a wind bag lover was on my ToDo list for a long time, but so far we haven't done it. So I went to Katharinenhof alone with my wife. The small village is located a few kilometers north of the island capital castle, and is very easy to reach by car as well as the bike. An old peasant shrine was converted into a small but cozy café and is open daily from March to mid-November. We were looking for a place in the shaded outdoor area. This is very rustic and reminds of a beer garden rather than a café. There are plenty of guests on several folding tables and chairs. Almost all outdoor spaces are covered with large parasols. The interior of the café is very cozy and in any case a good place for bad weather. The “Allee Café” Katharinenhof is not only a classic café, but also bistro, so the menu, besides the famous wind bags and other sweets, also holds hearty dishes such as flame cake, pizza, soups and other small snacks.
