"Anoki was our favourite Restaurant for 14 years. We been celebrating every birthday and Valentine’s Day.I been very very very disappointed this September for my husband birthday. They always used to do good atmosphere, good service, good food and cake with singing happy birthday song which we didn’t get any of these that night. We decided to give another chance in October for our daughters birthday with a lot of friend invited that night and the service. It was extremely very bad. We’ve was waiting for hours to get the order. The food came cold. nobody used to come to clean the table to ask if we need anything. I mentioned a lot of time it’s our daughter’s birthday. Nobody came with any cake to sing like always, It wasn’t a nice atmosphere and in the end the most disappointing thing was when we saw the bill to pay with £100 extra for what we been order on the top so very very very big disappointment ,They been put an extra bottle of wine, extra drink, extra food.I will never go back.So Sad. This was Anoki in burton."

Tandoori king prawn and lamb chop starters were superbly tasty and Mirch masala chicken main was succulent with just the right amount of spice. We often choose the same things but have never been disappointed by the alternatives. Altogether excellent. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Nice restaurant, and the food was very nice. We couldn't stop eating the chutney. The entrance was amazing with the light up archways. Very spacious parking. As it got busy, service levels dropped as we were waiting a while just to pay the bill. Overall nice experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Good restaurant lots of parking easy to locate, service was great staff was helpful and kind but i'm a vegetarian and there wasn't alot of vegetarian options available, I ended up getting the paneer makhani, which is supposed to be paneer cooked in buttery masala sauce. This one was red and tasted like a can of heinz tomato soup with blocks of paneer which was overpriced so wasn't impressed by this and also ruined the eating part of things for me. My friends who are non vegetarian also came with me but enjoyed their food. The restaurant is very nice and clean inside but wouldn't recommend going if you are vegetarian.

As a weekly diners at Anoki for over 15yrs, we have never received bad service or a bad meal and entertained with many friends here over the years. The food is excellent, tasty and authentic. The restaurant is huge spread over two rooms and you will see it bursting with capacity every weekend. They have a fabulous team and each individual staff member is always helpful/friendly and gives a high standard of service. We are really surprised why anyone would submit a negative review and can only think they have just been unlucky. These guys really work hard and any negativity does not give a true representation of this fabulous restaurant. Definitely worth every 5 star!

"Firstly we have been regular patrons of Favourite Thai since it opened. Under the previous owner who retired a couple of years ago it was truly excellent in all respects and I considered it my favourite restaurant in the UK. We have celebrated numerous birthdays, Valentines and anniversaries there. When the owner retired a manager was appointed and initially it was much the same. Don’t know who owns or runs it now but having not visited for some months last nights experience was truly shocking. First the famous Favourite Thai sharing starter. Gone was the fabulous Thai crab cake and carrot salad to be replaced with a range of fried items all in the same shade of beige and including that most traditional Thai item a battered onion ring. There were also two small spare ribs in hoisin sauce so not exactly Thai. Next our favourite: sea bass with mango, chillies and Thai basil. Normally this is sea bass in a light tempura butter with a salad of sour mango, cherry tomatoes and onions, chillies, coriander and basil with a lime based dressing which cuts the batter. This was two pieces of cod which appeared and tasted like they had come from the local chippy with mango on top but no tomatoes, virtually no onion, no discernible chilli or basil and two coriander leaves. The taste was overwhelmingly of cooking oil and the mouth feel was vile. The fish would have been ok with a side order of chips and mushy peas but was about as Thai m tasting as my husband’s socks. The Pad mee noodles are normally full of spring onions and bean sprouts and dressed with fried chopped garlic. There was no garlic and virtually no vegetables. Just a dollop of very greasy noodles that what I ate sat on my stomach like lead. The real shocker though was the service. We were offered one drink at the beginning and nothing else throughout the meal. Service used to be superb with complimentary water and prawn crackers on every table. After finishing as best we could the disappointing mains we sat back and waited for the dessert menu. Puds here used to be lovely and frankly I needed something to take away the taste of cooking oil. The lady who seemed to be in charge came over took the plates and said with no word of apology “do you want anything else because I need this table?” Our answer was “no. We will have the bill please”. This was £60. For the first time in my life I didn’t leave a tip but I will leave you one: avoid, avoid, avoid."
