Excellent restaurant, good value for money, the products are perfect, a menu without exaggeration, a warm welcome and impeccable service, we will return with great pleasure and invite my acquaintances to discover this place.

Completely overpriced, not very attentive staff, had to ask for drinks again and again although ordered, tiny entrecot was almost burnt and super dry, charged 15 Cents for Mayonnaise meal was already 21 Eur), tiny portion of fries, small salad, don't stop and eat there

Lovely authentic food, lovely atmosphere. we had the set menu which was very good value. Escargot was beautiful. We had steak in mushroom sauce with fries and caramelised rib with fries. Steak was tender, mushroom sauce was amazing and handmade French fries were fantastic, ribs...were great! we ate here on a Friday 18 months ago and recognized some of the customers. this time we took the menu du jour and felt that the standard slipped. no choices, starter a cheese crispy with salat (ok,) main a steak hache (aka rindfleisch burger. that probably didn't pass pattern in mcdo,) that was alarming pink in the middle, unpresenable pud. the service was also only average. Then why should we be close again?

After visiting the chemin des dames we have made ourselves to bruyeres and laon a few kilometers further on looking for something to eat. the inner of the au plaisir des mets (in bruyeres not laon itself) is much more intelligent than the outer suggestions...as I discovered after I had asked my way for a table. beautiful tablecloth, pleasant ambiente, stand the technique toilets. we enjoyed our meal, freshly prepared with decent ingredients.

previous reviews have 1 star that was a bit hard, although I understand why. 5 stars are also not correct. small, pleasant restaurant in the small village. decoration was clean. Eating was in order, but nothing to write home. coq au van had no sose, but...Magned delicate, fab home made chips. chocolate mousse beautiful. red sancerre super! would I come back? no hurry, but would not avoid it. there were five more tables. waitress friendly, but they need french. Stayed at a local Gîte and needed somewhere for dinner our host recommended this restaurant. As we have a small dog we needed outside seating, to our surprise we were able to take the dog in which was great. To start we had the smoked...trout and the goats cheese salad followed by the “Pig Board” and a Ray (fish) fillet and a creme brûlée to finish. All the food was good and we would recommend. The waiter spoke no English and our French isn’t that good but he helped out and was a good guy.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel in Chérêt. It wasn’t too far to drivhe and when we arrived around 7.40pm it was already full of people. Which is pretty amazing for a Thursday night. The two waiters were very attentive and polite. We had...Bevette with a shallot sauce frites. We asked for medium steaks and that is what we got. Extremely nice and the frites were very good and tasted like real potatoe instead of that dried powder type chip so many places do now. We enjoyed the meal so much, we went for the cafe gourmand. we visited this local restaurant on the strength of the recommendation of our host. big mistake. it was the worst meal we've ever been served. Forget that we were driving 5.5 hours over France on the road to home. forget that it took them an hour to bring our ancestors. And that when we asked if there was a problem, in view of a neighbor family who had come after us already had received their main, said the garçon (which may not have been older than 15) it was the salat niçoise who took a long time because “it had been many different fresh ingredients”.
