"I have been a customer of this restaurant since it first opened, and it used to be good. However, the quality of the chips has been declining for quite some time now. I have almost completely stopped going there recently because of this issue. I decided to give it another chance tonight, hoping that the quality had improved, but unfortunately, it has not. The chips were probably the worst I have ever had. If you enjoy warm-ups, then this place may be for you. Otherwise, I would recommend going elsewhere."

popular takeaway wide selection from fish chips to Chinese kebabs etc. can get very busy, but can pick up via phone.

The food was good, the service was quick, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. We ordered takeout for dinner, and it cost £1-10 per person. We would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 4 out of 5.

I am not sure if the restaurant has changed their cooking oil, but during my last visit I waited 15 minutes for terrible fries. I will not be returning in a hurry. Up until then, this place had a 5-star rating. (Visited on July 13, 2023) Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Waiting in there for 20 mins on 2 salt n pepper chips even tho I ordered then online 20 min prior. "Expectations not met ... no Sunday lunches on offer was told when we arrived “we haven’t anything left “ this was at 5.45 ?? They had tried to ring us and I checked missed call at 5.40 but Was driving unable to answer phone a bit short notice anyway! Not good really saying it was Sunday and advertised as one of the main options on the daily menu “bad management “ we did order another option and it was nicely presented and very tasty but steak served on a wooden platter Doesn’t work when you order sauce as a side just got messy.. on requesting our bill and ready to pay we was then told they couldn’t take card payments and was taking cash only !!! Why tell you at the end of your meal ? Embarrassing!! nobody carry’s much cash around with them was lucky there was a cash machine across from restaurant.. may I suggest you tell your customers before sitting down . Would I go again Yes I think I would Maybe we just picked the wrong day ."

"the hop vine is one of my favorite places to eat in the opposite and has not dined here for a past. we had the steak ale pie, hunters chicken and for the desert apple pie cheesecake. Why, if one of my favorite places to dine, I give 4 stars....simple... the hope vine has set high standards with our earlier visits and this visit was very good, but not as good as before (now we have shared here haare) as it was very good. I think it was because we enjoyed our desert more than the main course. the personal here is very good and I mean very good and friendly some of the best in the opposite. a wonderful selection of real ales. I wish I could set the star rating to 4.5, but can only set 4 and not fair to set 5 if I know and have experienced the hop vine in his best before. if I were to come back, I would definitely recommend everyone. one of the best pub restaurants in the environment."

"We make it a point to stay here once a year for a special occasion. We always book the best suite and indulge in the complete tasting menu with wine pairings. While it's not the cheapest option, it certainly feels worth every penny. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about every aspect of the experience. The menu focuses on local products, and they rely on their own gardens whenever possible. If you're looking for a fantastic evening with exquisite food, make sure to enjoy some excellent wines and cheeses while you're here. This place is hands down the best I've ever visited, even compared to places like Singapore and Monaco. Having such an establishment right at your doorstep is truly remarkable."

"We recently visited the restaurant , a few months after out previous visits . The meal was dreadful . I explained the problem to the waiter who laughed it off and that was the end of it . The bowl was too small for the meal (lamb cutlets) and so the meat was plonked on top of the soggy mash . In order to cut the rather undercooked lamb , you had to submerge the meat in the runny mash to reach the plate where you discovered the veg underneath the slop of mash potatoes. I will not visit this establishment again any time soon as it was a terrible experience ."
