"The renovation was very successful, the modern style is evidence of a well thought-out concept. The monthly changing menu is clear and offers something for everyone. From meat lovers to vegans, everyone gets their money's worth. We enjoyed the four-course vegetarian Menu Surprise and were actually surprised at the variety of flavors and textures in each course. The eggplant tartare was a taste explosion, the cold white tomato soup with basil espuma was a dream. We probably wouldn't have ordered the main course with a variation of just cauliflower and broccoli, but we would definitely have missed something. And the final variation of the apricot is an absolute poem. Plus courteous service, a well-stocked wine list (with specialties for beer lovers too) and the whole thing including an aperitif for under 100 francs per person. Oh yes, did I mention the freshly baked fabulous focaccia that was served with it? Again any time!"

Der Mittagstisch ist Selbstbedienung. Essen war durchschnittlich und lauwarm. Die Präsentation ist leider auch nicht besonders. Man bekommt keine Lust aufs Essen

Sehr stilvoll umgebauter Gasthof, kleine aber ansprechende Karte, saisonal, regional mit wechselnden Tagesmenues und Monatshits. Zuvorkommender Service. Sehr gerne und immer mal wieder berücksichtigen wir bei unserer Lokalwahl als Einwohner Steffisburgs den Bären!

Nach einem wirklich sehr gelungenen Umbau des Dorfgasthofes Bären erstrahlt der Gasthof in neuem Glanz. Sehr ansprechendes Ambiente. Die Menükarte ist nicht gross, dafür Regional und das Essen ist wirklich Top. Ach der Service ist aufmerksam und sehr angenehm. Sehr gerne wieder Visualizza piatti

Das Essen war sehr fein und die Bedienung sehr nett. Was ich sehr stossend finde, dass 1 Liter Hahnenwasser CHF 8.00 kostet. Wir haben einen Prosecco als Apéro getrunken, und einen halben Liter Rotwein bestellt. Das Essen (Menü hat pro Person CHF 71.00 gekostet. Die ganze Rechnung war über CHF 200.00. Deshalb finde ich Hahnenwasser sollte es bei einer solchen Konsumation gratis dazugeben!

Ohne Anmeldung fanden wir an einem Donnerstag Abend kurz vor Weihnachten noch einen Platz. Sahen von draussen, dass es im Lokal viel Betrieb hatte und versuchten unser Glück. Wir wurden sofort herzlich empfangen, die Weinempfehlung für den Apéro war sehr gut. Die Karte ist nicht sehr gross, dafür merkte man, dass regional gekocht wurde. Das Servicepersonal war sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr gut und wir fühlten uns den ganzen Abend sehr wohl. Dass das Lokal kürzlich umgebaut wurde, konnten wir in einem Flyer auf dem Tisch lesen. Es war sehr gelungen. Es hatte relativ viele Einheimische, was ja auch ein gutes Zeichen ist.
