"We wanted a drink before lunch but the guy at Brasserie d'Hermes on the square next to the cathedral told us quite snottily that we could only sit inside (in 25 degrees as outside was for diners. It was nearly empty so we declined and wandered back down to this lovely bar/restaurant on the Place de la Liberté where we were received like long lost friends. We just had a couple of beers, watched the world go by then went for lunch. You guessed it, when we walked past again, L'Hermes was still empty outside but guess they don’t need our money."

Beautiful open terrace in a well-appointed public square. Excellent carpaccio and very large beers! Good value as well.
