"So I discovered this place online, and being the vegan foodie I am, got extremely excited and made a reservation for their Sunday brunch, which starts at 10am, straight away! Now being tourists we were staying in central Berlin so this was quite out of the way for us but the neighbourhood seemed okay - definitely a place for the locals. We got there at 10am and were the only people there (perhaps a bit early for brunch, I know) but you couldn't ask for friendlier staff! They all spoke perfect English (especially as a few of them are from America/New Zealand) and were very accommodating. The only thing that bothered me slightly was that the manager(?) insisted on taking photos of the brunch spread for over 30 minutes - which is fine, we let him do his thing. But then even as we started going up for food he was still whisking plates away to photograph them, which made us almost feel as if we were a nuisance, ruining the food. I understand how hard it is being a food blogger myself, however this should be done BEFORE brunch starts and BEFORE you have any customers waiting (by this point more people had arrived) ANYWAY on to the food... It was displayed wonderfully and there was lots of variety - from courgetti to quinoa salads and raw cakes and lots of homemade dips. The majority of it was really tasty but some dishes need a lot of improvement and I questioned whether the chef tasted them before they put them out. I understand their whole concept is healthy and refined sugar free - however this does not and should not mean tasteless. Another issue was that not everything was ready for 10am. After about an hour we'd had our first plate of food, they decided to bring out all the dressings which go with the food and other dishes like raw pizzas. This was annoying for my mum who would have loved to try those but was already full - for me it definitely wasn't a problem going up for a second (and third) plate. However, I do think that if they publish that the brunch begins at 10am, then everything should be set out at 10am so you don't miss out on things. Overall I had a good experience here however I feel like they're just finding their feet and need a bit more time."

I was here three times, and every time there were no cakes/desserts. The cocktails are okay, but very expensive. Nice atmosphere.

Very cute, lovely people, vegan food and drinks. I had a lovely vegan iced coffee and a raw vegan tart, which was absolutely divine.

Very nice and small vegan pub . They have a good selections of beer and some vegan food like the chili sin carne that was really good . Nice atmosphere. A place to visit

I was surprised to find something like that in my neighbourhood, finally a cosy place with a great selection of vegan dishes! Raw food option and stunnig coffe, made me want to stop by every day! Im not a big drinker, but the craft beer selection was impressive.

When in France being veggie, let alone being vegan is like confessing you belong to ISIS. And when in Berlin it is being the new normal, one can eat veggie in a lot of restaurants. But one can not find a lot of places like Barkett. Great variety, excellent tastes, and eyecandy at the same time. I would recommend it to everyone, one does not necessairily be a hipster. ( as I am an oldie withe the twinset and the pearls)
