"Bella and Megs is a favourite with our family in general, great coffee, fab cakes for the kids and excellent veggie breakfasts! When we lost my mum in 2023 we wanted a post funeral gathering that she would have been proud of. Bella and Megs met that and then some, we asked for an afternoon tea as a private function, and wow did they deliver! When we arrived from the funeral, they had decorated the venue beautifully, including standing up collages of my mum's photos and memories, which guests loved. When the afternoon tea came out it was stunning! Gorgeous scones, cakes and sandwiches, our mum would have loved it! It is still talked about by the family and guests a year on. Thank you, and well done Bella and Megs :0)"

Visited for the first time today; absolutely wonderful. From the moment I walked in, until the moment I left, everyone was so kind, accommodating and friendly. The food is amazing, fresh and home made. They really care. It's wonderful and it's my new favourite Saturday spot. Thank you so much xxx

every time I come to hatsocks, I always make a point to lunch in bella and meg’s. I love eating and the ambiente. weather allowed, we can also eat outside. do not expect 5 stars to eat palast, but the right home made family good comfortable eating. although I found that in this year menu there were fewer homemade cooking dishes and more sandwiches choice. but the red curry was beautiful. We were driving and wanted a coffee/water when we spotted Bella Megs on entering we’re greeted placed my order with the lady for a latte and a bottle of water could see the lady sanitise a tray she placed the bottle of water on the tray. The coffee was made and placed on the tray she had also placed the lid for the coffee with tongs. Very impressed with the Covid operation and the coffee was very good too.

beautiful caffe in hassocks serves good quality eating and coffee. Unfortunately, they only have milk, heifer and soy milk, so my wife could not have a latte coffee. it is only able to drink cocos or mandel milk that most of the smaller caffes in these days do not offer what is a real scandal, as we can always get cocos and mandel at the costa and in the caffe nero, so that we end there! the staff here are all very friendly and welcoming and have good customer service skills. there is a beautiful small sitting area outside, from where you can see the world of hassocks past. overall, please recommend.

"We go to Gravetye 3 or 4 times a year if we can and have been going for many many years over the tenures of several owners. It 's always a complete joy, and the current owner has done a fabulous job of getting the right people in, both inside and out. Tom Coward, the Head Gardener (ex. Dixter) has a vision and a long term plan that make continual visits over an extended period a joy every time we visit we are surprised by the continual changes we learn so much and the garden staff are super helpful and willing to discuss what they 're up to and why. The amazing oval massive kitchen garden that supplies the hotel is a source of wonderment and not to be missed. A visual and culinary feast. We 've never stayed there as we live reasonably close, but have eaten in both the old and new dining rooms many times. The new dining room sits harmoniously between the wings of the manor and although a very modern glass and steel construction, the inclusion of a fabulous antique (and uneven) parquet floor (ex. some french chateau) softens the feel and acoustics, making the room almost intimate. The floor to ceiling windows bring you right into the garden, even in the foulest of weather it 's a triumph of design. Then there 's the food. Apart from the presentation, which is exquisite, the flavours and textures always bring a broad grin, however grumpy I am! This is absolutely first rate British cuisine; the kitchen under Head Chef George Blogg is to be commended, as are the garden staff producing the freshest of produce. I occasionally try to photograph the plates, but invariably find I 've forgotten that rather crass move and have just launched in! Must also mention the front of house staff. Perfectly presented and mannered, they know exactly the boundary between staff and guest and make you feel completely comfortable and relaxed there is nothing stuffy or obsequious about Gravetye everything is pitched just spot on and nothing is too much trouble. We were there today for a birthday treat, but will be back again soon for a post family wedding get together. Cannot recommend too highly just an excellent few hours, whatever the weather. Walkability: Lots of paths. The lower areas are easy for those with limited mobility, however it might be tricky to get up to the kitchen garden if you 're not great on your feet. Food drinks: See my review."
