"Hi , I’m not from this area at all and I recently was called into to help with work at boots next door, I got a bit hungry and seen this place I was a little bit skeptical because I am a picky eater (hence why I only got a portion of fries). Just wanted to say how friendly staff were, so welcoming and really nice to all customers. Well done for that. My chips were ready the second I made the order and tasted fresh and hot just how I like it. Judging by the menu they do offer some really good portions but I would prefer a plain chips haha. Reasonably priced and nice seating inside. Will be coming back to this place if I get called into work again. Thanks guys for lovely service Kid-friendliness: Welcoming staff"

"Second visit in the last two months. Fantastic and authentic cuisine. Very passionate chef. Tells you all about the dishes. How they were made where they originate from. Listens to customers and will add things to the menu. Dipping sauce with dough balls and a delicious plumb tart. Can’t wait to go again. Mouthwatering. Definitely worth a visit."

"I have been going to this pub for many years and my favourite day to go is a Sunday, if you time it right with your food you can always stick around for the meat raffle at 6.30. It is a busy pub with excellent food and service, the meat raffle increases the good atmosphere that is already there and if you are luckily enough to win everyone celebrates with you. You do not have to go for food, they have a great selection of drinks on the bar, with friendly staff to serve. If Sunday’s not your thing then men’s darts and dominoes on a Monday, quiz night on a Tuesday, which is always a laugh, ladies darts and dominoes on a Wednesday, Thursday is pool night and then the weekend you are guaranteed a good night. Keep an eye out for any entertainment they have on, you wouldn’t want to miss it. There is also a function room upstairs which has its own bar."

"I stopped by this restaurant after the gym for a coffee and received really prompt and friendly service. The place was spotlessly clean and had comfortable seating. Although I haven't tried the food yet, it looks delicious. The coffee was amazing and I will definitely keep coming back."

"We'd been to Hyssop at the Bulls Head and we had some Hyssop at home meals in lockdown but this was our first time visiting the restaurant on the High Street (with one thing and another we just hadn't managed to make it in). We definitely won't be waiting as long before we're back again. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ordered far too many of the small plates because everything on the menu sounded so good. Even though we were full before the last couple of plates came out we still tucked in because you couldn't just try a bit of any of the dishes without wanting more. Every dish was amazing. OMG, the flavours, the presentation, the level of detail. How they can serve so many small plates with that level of quality is a mystery. If you like really good food then go. We will definitely be back very soon."
