"I recently returned to Essen for an annual conference that was cancelled in due to So, I knew the great places to dine in but I was looking for something different and with a new vibe. That is what brought me to...Bliss Tapas Bar. Apparently, the restaurant was here in but they used the down time in to revamp and redecorate this place by giving it a more Asian flair. Wow! They aim to please and they certainly did more than that. My waitress was wonderful in making some fantastic recommendations. I started out with a carafe of Grauburgunder white wine. For my first dish, I ordered the Jakobmuscheln (scallops) served with Beluga lentils in a truffle sauce. My goodness, if this wasn't sheer bliss, I don't know what would be. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the truffle sauce was outstanding. For the second dish, I ordered the Cevapcici, a Croatian dish, that I simply love. This is a meat dish served with minced meat sausages over a bed of ajvar hummus and stewed tomatoes. While the scallops were better, this by no means disappointed. It was fantastic as can be seen in the photos. I started dining on the outside, but when an unexpected rainstorm came, I rushed inside to continue this superb dining experience. The chef came by and chatted a bit so I told him how amazing my food was. You, too, will find bliss at Bliss!"

I am in Essen quite a lot for business and tend to always go back to Bliss as the quality of the food for the price is excellent and so is the service and I like the outside space at the rear which is a...must if the weather is nice.

Went there for tappas dinner with a friend who'd been there before. We asked them for a the special tapas menu. They asked if we had any food alergies, things to avoid and after this check the adventure started. Wonderful service, outstanding food. Definitely...a place to recommend to others hands down.

We visited the restaurant for a birthday and ordered a good share of vegetarian and a few ones with fish and meat. We were delighted with the flavourful dips and seasoning of the different dishes. They also have a backyard for the warmer days. I...strongly recommend the tuna on wakame, which is my absolute favourite though not a typical tapas dish.

Nice restaurant. Choice from bar seats and tables. Vary kind of food are served: fish, meat, vegetarian, but also main, second courses and desserts. Quality is good and service is quick and kind. Price not expensive. Tapas in Spain are different (many many different little...plates of food; here the concept is modified, serving bigger plates but keeping the variety. I suggest this restaurant for informal dinners.
