"Heard so many excellent reviews about this place I thought I 'd pop in and see what all the fuss is about. And I wasn 't disappointed. My GP has given me some tips lately, like leave the sugar out of your tea and seek the places that serve gluten free bread so I consider myself something of a fussy eater. None of which fazed the staff here in any way, shape or form. They had gluten free toast readily to hand and never batted an eyelid at my request for honey in my tea. But everything I 'd read about their Full English Breakfast turned out to be true. It was delicious. And the staff really pride themselves on their warmth and their ability to be helpful. Jen has perhaps the warmest smile and kindest nature in Southport. If I was being a nuisance with my camera (and I usually am) she never showed me anything except her huge and ready smile, and it was such a joy to be treated with such appreciation and kindness. The word of mouth reviews all call this place one of Southport 's hidden gems and I can understand why. I really will be back, if only because the lunch menu looks even better than the incredible breakfast. And the welcome that Peter, Jen and Katrina offer is stunning. "My sister, her husband and I had a fabulous meal Wednesday 2nd at 7pm. The restaurant was extremely busy but Elisha the Manageress kindly gave us a table. We had spicy garlic bread to start, then my sister and I had Smoked Haddock Risotto with a lovely soft Poached Egg which we thoroughly enjoyed and my Brother in law opted for 2 x Starters, the Chicken Livers and Baked Mushrooms, we shared a gorgeous bottle of Merlot and believe me nothing was left. The staff at this restaurant are always lovely, friendly and helpful. Thank you Elisha."

"Chez Moi, Lord Street, Southport. A lovely lunch was had by myself and my Husband. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Sal, who we haven't seen for a while, what with all that's been going on in the World of late. Lovely menu with lots of choices. Well priced, possibly about the best in town. When the food arrived, it was all fresh and very hot. We both enjoyed what we had and it couldn't have been better. Thank you Sal for another lovely meal. Paul and Stephen."

"I haven’t been to Southport since I was 12 and we stayed at Pontins! I am now 62! Today I went with my son and grandson. We arrived very early, sadly the pier was closed but we walked on the beach which was lovely. We then walked through the centre and luckily stumbled across the tea room. I just loved the whole place, the decor and the ethos was amazing. The furniture and the clock chiming reminding me of my grandparents home as a child. I loved the music too. The staff were so friendly and so professional. My grandson was fascinated by their delightful manners and it was so lovely because I am constantly trying to remind him of the importance of manners. My son and I had the full English breakfast. It really was fabulous. My grandson is a really fussy eater and said he wasn’t hungry. He ate one of my sausages and later on said could we go again so he could have his own breakfast. I can safely say we will most definitely return in the future. In this very modern world of fast and bland food your tea room proved that quality, tradition and fabulous food can be found in ‘The Westminster Tea Rooms, Southport. THANKYOU. "Before the Covid pandemic, my wife and I used to visit this restaurant twice a month. The portions were excellent, the menu was extensive with some unique dishes (like doorstep rarebit and soup), and we always looked forward to dining here. After Covid, we were excited to return for our first visit. The restaurant still had its interesting interior decor with oddities hanging on the walls, and the menu seemed unchanged. However, our experience took a turn for the worse. Our starters arrived quickly and were okay, but then we experienced a significant delay with our main dishes. Other diners who had ordered after us received their food 7 minutes before us. There was no explanation for the 20-minute wait, and we were concerned about our car park ticket expiring. My wife's beef stroganoff was good, but I wish I had ordered it instead of my sirloin skewer with rice. The skewer was presented hanging over a small pot of rice, along with a small salad and a flatbread that was barely large enough to hold the food. It was difficult to eat the dish in this setup, and the lack of chargrilling on the skewer was disappointing. The peppers, onions, and steak were undercooked, and the meat was tough and gray. I had to eat plain rice until I could free up enough space to eat the skewer. It was frustrating not to have a plate to cut the food on, and I wish the staff had communicated the situation to us and offered us another drink while we waited. Overall, I'm unsure if I will give this restaurant another chance, even though it used to be our favorite lunch spot."
