Even if we were booked and confirmed via your website (Open Table), our booking was rejected because the restaurant said they were in the capacity, and the website would not have allowed us to book it.

I booked a month before my client. Get multiple booking confirmations, including one on the previous day. The restaurant refused all the knowledge of booking and when presented with the booking confirmation that they do not use Open Table or similar booking services. Would not honor the booking.

Bottlescrue had a nice atmosphere, where friends can come to together for a catch up that was very chilled. I had a steak for dinner, which was very slightly overdone and from memory there wasn't loads of veg with it; however still very tasty. Lunch for four. We were given a private space just off the main bar/restaurant area although hadn't requested it, which was nice. It was quiet for a Thursday lunchtime, I'd say, although that suited the situation as it was a business lunch Service was prompt and food was decent enough. I'm a risotto anorak and would give their risotto a 7-8/10. Would go again if in the area as it was pretty decent value for money.

Did we enjoy our experience at the Bottlescrue? NO!!! A thousand times No! The food was way too salty and overpriced. The service was painfully slow and the manager was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. And if you're allergic to fish, don't have the Caesar salad it's not mentioned on the menu that it contains fish. The whole experience was upsetting and not only would I not go back, but I'm am certainly not recommending it to anyone.

I made reservations for business dinner and went for 2 courses menu with a starter and fish. starter: black pudding scotch ei and pumpkin suppe was great! the plaice (main course) was completely unacceptable. they served twice and both males the fish was still raw, especially in the middle bit, if blood still visible when they cut through. I was totally embarrassed before my client. I hope the restaurant manager should visit her fish again if they should be on the menu. Visualizza piatti

Overall, I could recommend this pub. I have used this pub dining restaurant a couple times, it's cozy and good atmosphere, it's suitable for business lunch and dinner as they have some private rooms and not noisy/loud, the customer only are professional business people. The food is traditional British pub food, hard to say specifically good or bad but reasonably okay. I could recommend to the restaurant to prepare fancy food and changing daily food. There is really good atmosphere and convinence venue near by station.

I wanted to share lunch with my son on his birthday and chose Bottlescrue because of its proximity to his office. Unfortunately he only gets one hour. I arrived early and ordered for both of us: one fish and chips , one rib eye steak cooked blue. The young waiter was helpful and keen to achieve our need for speedy service and food delivery. The food was good and the steak was done to perfection Regrettably there was only time for one course I was envious of the many businessmen settling down for a long lunch but it delivered on all fronts.

I dined here with a friend, just as a catch up dinner. The food was lovely but the service really let it down. We were not given the menu as described on the offer so just ordered off the main menu and then questioned the 2 course deal after with the manager as she was walking past. She made a comment that the waiters basically keep forgetting to put the 2 or 3 course deal menu's out, which to me highlighted the bad service we got! She was very kind and offered to either take the starters off or a glass of champagne for free. I am really glad we opted for the starters being taken off as we went into the bathrooms as we were leaving and discovered that we should have gotten the glass of champ... Visualizza piatti
