Bourdasso Cucina Italiana

Lovely alfresco dinner in the middle of nowhere...excellent food and service with a great wine list plus craft beers from Rome....will definitely come back if we find the time.

The quality of restaurants in France is usually indicated by the number of locals dining out of the high season. Using this criteria, then Bourdasso is excellent and this certainly was our impression on our one visit. The restaurant also imports wines from Italy and the one we had was excellent.

This family owned and run business has been operating for the last few years. Open lunch on Saturday and Sunday and most evenings, the selection is small but amazing. They are raising their own herd of buffalo's, and the burger and meat balls are amazing. If you want something special, just ask and they will oblige....Certainly in my top 10.... Visualizza piatti

Had a wonderfull evening at Bourdasso. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Reserving a table is important, since its popular by the locals also. The family from Rome puts its family touch on the place. The Bourdasso wine is magnificent and be sure to ask Antonio for some beer. Could it be the best carbonara in France ;)? Will be returning.

This is a gem of a restaurant tucked away near a small village. The "buffalo" dishes scared me as I was thinking of American bison. I was glad I tried it though. It was delicious and really from an African cow. The staff were all VERY friendly and spoke Italian, French, and English. The house wine was excellent and all five of us enjoyed our different meals. You must seek out this great place.

Unfortunately the weather was not good, does often happen early July! It was cold but once we stepped into the nicely decorated restaurant all feelings of cold disappeared. The welcome was exceptional. There is a limited choice on the menu, which may be ofputting to some but the food is exceptional, the presentation artistic and the taste superb. I did cause quite a disturbed reaction of the owner when I asked for an aperitif of limoncello and prosseco, I hope he tried it because it is delicious, I had been introduced to this in a recent tour of the Italian lakes and the Dolomites. Yes, it is out in the wilds of the northern Corbières, but it's absolutely worth making the effort to get there. There's something comforting - almost surreal - about sitting in this beautifully styled Italian restaurant, while looking out as the sky darkens over the high and empty hills outside. It's a pity there's nowhere within walking distance to stay the night. Maybe that will change.We made the trip there on the back of Nick Lander's review (see jancisrobinson.com 26th August) and his account will tell you how the restaurant came about. We found ourselves sharing his enthusiasm and had a great evening. Enjoyed the food, loved the ambience and service, were intrigued to be eating buffal...

If you find yourself near Carcassonne and are tired of overrated and overpriced French cuisine you should find time for a lunch or dinner at Bourdasso. The family owned restaurant serves outstanding Italian dishes, made with top quality ingredients. The starters were excellent - great prosciutto and arancinis. they were followed by the best Pasta alla Carbonara I have ever had. The main course was a perfectly cooked and very tasty pork fillet with a light fresh onion sauce. To finish I was glad to have found room for a slice of delicious nutty chocolate cake!. The owners (the whole family works here) are very friendly while professional, and attentive. We were warmly greeted and well looked...

First of all this restaurant is NOT in Carcassonne - it's at least a 20 minute drive outside Carcassonne on the way to Lagrasse, so it's a drive with a good sat-nav (and a nominated driver!) or a pricey taxi ride. Not sure why Tripadvisor thinks Pradelles en Val is in Carcassonne...Anyway whichever route you take, take it because this is probably the best restaurant in the area outside of Gilles Gujon's very expensive and historically wonderful restaurant in Fontjoncouse. Bourdasso is an excellent family-run Italian in a beautifully restored old building which can also hold private parties and events.
