"The service was the worse. It was hot and we didn’t know of other places so we decided on this place. The server was so cold, ignored our acknowledgement as we arrived and sat down. She later returned with a semi better attitude. Place is not kid friendly. She didn’t follow up with us after serving us. The food was bad. The croque-monsiuer was bad. We took a safe route for the kids which could not be a risk to order but I was wrong. Not even the kids wanted it. We ordered salads for the adults and I ordered chicken on mine. I received chicken tenders when normally they come grilled chicken. On the bright side the kids did have some of my chicken fingers. I can’t recommend this place."

Une brasserie sans prétention excessive. Repas correct.

We were recovering from the loss of Belgium against Italy, and were waiting for our train back to Belgium. As the restaurants (very) close to the station didn't look so attractive, we went a bit further. Just around the corner, this restaurant looked more charming. We were sitting on the terrace and enjoyed a good lunch time, including friendly service and good food.

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
