Brossen Steakhouse - Piatti

Today we visited the restaurant for the first time and we had the 3 course festive menu and really enjoyed it. The young girl who served us was polite and attentive and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back. Great value at £31 for 3 courses. Decor beautiful too we really enjoyed it there.

Came to the Brossen for an anniversary meal and had wanted a steak. It was worth the trip from Carlisle. There was a great atmosphere,with very friendly and helpful staff. The steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious as did the sides that we ordered with them and the dessert was just as delicious. We will definitely be coming back again sometime.

The meal we had here was delicious, I had pre booked and let them know that one of us was gluten free. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars was because the only g/f option for dessert was ice cream which was disappointing. We were all there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and would have loved to have had dessert however we all left early and had to go elsewhere. Visualizza piatti

This was my first time dining here, even though I have been to the lakes a few times before. I had a wonderful evening meal. We decided to share the chateaubriand, which came with a choice of three sides and two sauces. We were both very full after eating it, the steak was excellent. I would like to give a special mention to one of the waiters, Dragos, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and chatty. He is a true asset to the restaurant.

Incredible steaks and great ambiance Having googled best steaks in the lakes we settled on Brossen and were not disappointed. We’ve lived a privileged life and eaten at Marriane Lumbs, with Gary Rhodes and at a couple of Alex Aitkens restaurants and this was by far the best steaks we’ve ever had. For the first time ever I asked to speak to the chef to compliment him. Those steaks were perfection. Sadly our desert order was forgotten and, when we went to the loo I got the distinct impression they thought we had done a runner but when a steak is that good you can forgive them that, highly recommended

We visited mid week early evening with our 11 month old. We are only local and had a voucher to use from last Christmas so had the steak sharer. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the steak was cooked perfectly. What was stand out was the service from the Romanian waiter Grago, he was absolutely superb with our little girl who was everywhere and anywhere and didn’t want to sit still. He was so pleasant, welcoming and nothing was too much. The Lake District has desperately missed our European workers, it is a pleasure to see them back and help push the service. This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant in 3 weeks, I wish I had got the name of the lady who appeared to be front of house as she was shocking. I had booked us in and put a note on the booking that we had a dog with us, twice she said I hadn’t put a note, I had, but I didn’t need to be told a further twice that I hadn’t! The 3 weeks before the same lady had served me my family in the bar area, our round of drinks was expensive and served up with attitude and just plain rudeness. Great service, however the food wasn’t great. The food had two problems; first, his price is very expensive, for a plate of 4 small pieces and not tasty kebabs and not much more meat, the price was very high -75£, and a vegetarian burger-20£. The second problem was that the food wasn’t tasty. For my opinion to serve in this high quality of a restaurant a frozen vegetarian burger and to charge 20£ for it, is terrible. Although my bad opinion about the restaurant, I would like to mention the great waiters which showed great knowledge in the menu and were very nice to us. My husband stopped by this restaurant to inquire about the possibility of seating where we could order from the steakhouse menu with our dog, as we were on holiday. It was our 10th wedding anniversary and we were looking for something a bit more special than the usual pub meal. The man at the front desk was very accommodating and said they could seat us just outside the restaurant doors in some comfortable seats where our dog would be welcome. We returned the next day and the food was incredible. We shared the 20oz chateaubriand with sides of chips, onion rings, and steamed vegetables.
