"I was curious about this place because of all the really bad reviews and because I like visiting places with a long history. When I stepped inside it was like being transported to a different era, with the old style of decoration, furniture and layout. They even have a real fireplace, perfect for a freezing December day. I thought the atmosphere was quite cosy, but there were some food boards and random stuff lying around, like a wooden pole below the counter. The place seemed clean besides that.I ordered a latte and a chocolate fudge cake for a total of £2.95, I thought it was so cheap I'm still wondering if it was a mistake. The coffee was pretty good and the chocolate cake too cold but edible. Staff were very polite, chatting with customers, holding the door for those leaving and generally being very pleasant. Except for the lady taking orders at the counter, I found her a bit abrupt. Maybe she just wanted to be very fast with the orders to not keep customers waiting, but she could have rushed a bit less and maybe ask if I wanted my cake microwaved. She did prepare my coffee extremely fast though. The toilets were not as dirty as described in other reviews, but they are pretty old and could use a refurbishment. And you do have to go past piles of dirty dishes to get there, maybe because of lack of space in the kitchen. They do need to do something about that too.In all, it seemed to me like they are trying to respond to all the bad feedback they have received. If they keep it up and with some more changes they could start earning a lot of positive reviews. I would like to go back and try the food as well and to see if it will be a pleasant experience again or if I happened to catch them on a good day."

Having come from Australia I have been disappointed with the range of food on offer for breakfast in the Uk. Today I was not. Avocado, sunflower seeds, crumbled feta, poached eggs and toast. The avocado was perfect. Coffee also piping hot. Perfect

Have visited this café over many years. My favourite spot in Preston for breakfast or coffee. Great range of options for breakfast, including special of bacon bap and small coffee for £4.95. Let's hope TripAdvisor updates its site to show that Brucciani's is not closed.

The restaurant has beautiful décor and offers a great deal on breakfast. I opted for the healthy choice of avocado on toast with feta and pumpkin seeds, while my dad went for the hearty full English breakfast. The bill came to just over ten pounds, which was excellent value for money.

Visited today and disappointed that this potentially great place was scruffy and down market. Didn't like having to serve ourselves and the coffee was weak and tasted like instant. Thought with Italian descendency it would be its selling point.. Lots of cleaning equipment around the place but it didn't look clean. Visualizza piatti

A great find after a recommendation from a friend. Cant believe I haven't been before! Good food and drinks at reasonable prices, and the kids menu is remarkably great value. Real ice cream milkshakes were the highlight! Toilets need a bit of modernisation if I am honest but difficult to see how without ruining the classic 30s feel. Well worth a visit.

Nice looking cafe in one of the new arcades the interior is interesting in an ersatz sort of way and generally clean despite othe reviews to the contrary. The ordering system however left much to be desired with just one rather over worked surly counter waitress trying to take orders make and serve coffee and run the till. This led to inevitable delays. The food to be fair was OK.

We were attracted to the cafe because of the character and felt it would be a traditional afternoon location, the cafe was very busy (indicating it 's popularity) and we secured a table. The counter service was efficient and the food order was delivered quickly. As it was pre lockdown, the tables were rather squeezed together. The food itself was fine, nothing that you could say 'wow ' or that was 'euww ' it was 'fine '. I think if it was less crammed with tables we might have been able to enjoy the interior experience more however business is business and customers mean income. Visualizza piatti

I went to this restaurant today with my mom for dinner. We both decided to order a baked potato with prawn Marie Rose sauce, a Diet Coke, and a regular coffee. The total bill came to over £18. The Diet Coke was fine as it came from a machine, and the coffee was great. However, we were both disappointed with the food. The baked potato seemed to have been microwaved and lacked flavor. The salad was not fresh at all and the portion was very small. I would have expected a more substantial meal, especially considering the price we paid. Overall, we were not satisfied with our dining experience.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my young son and a friend. I inquired about gluten-free options and was initially told there were none. However, after seeing baked potatoes on the menu, I asked again and was then told they were available. I also asked for a bowl to transfer my son's food from a thermos flask, but was refused. My son is not yet 2, so I usually bring his meals from home. Overall, I found the service to be unaccommodating and the food quality was subpar. The baked potato was lukewarm and the grated cheese on top did not melt. The tea was also filled with tea grains. The older lady who served us appeared to be in a bad mood. While the restaurant prides itself on its old...
