"i cannont believe how we were treated at buffet city yesterday evening. after having a lovely day with the children. we went to buffet city last minute, i have two little girls both under two in the high chair bearing in mind there was no tray on the high chair. and the manager decided to come over shouting saying to much mess, making a very big scene waving her arms around whilst we were eating our dinner, everyone else was staring trying to eat there food i understand children make a bit of mess when they're eating we did try to keep it clean but obviously with two children eating was quite preventable i wanted to post on here to let you know its not child friendly especially if you have children in high chair age. we are very disgusted and will never be returning again!! not to mention the food was old. waiting for fresh dishes but they never put anything fresh out"

It says online it’s open but when we went there we waited there for 25 minutes and it didn’t open..We then looked at the time table outside it said it’s closed on Monday

I went to this restaurant with my family for lunch and we were all very satisfied. They have a great variety of dishes and desserts to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable.

I have all ways found this a good place to go when in Exeter,infact I am just off to visit again,but it is my first Saturday.I have always eaten with a friend who is a veggie,and colour blind ,so I have to help him with the choice. Taking my wife for the first time who also is a veggie so here goes,and very happy with the thought of getting some lunch there.

The staff are very rude, I felt like I was in the army eating food the way they were so corporal!! And the price £16.45 dinner time is ridiculous!!! That doesn't even include drinks. The food quality is vile for a Chinese is bad quality and the manager well she is rude and heartless!! You don't mind taking our money but at least have a better attitude! Vile and rude. End of.

I was shocked that some recent reviews were so poor and wonder if it depends what day you go we went on a Sunday lunchtime and the food couldn’t have been fresher or more tasty. The teenagers could go back to the counter as many times as they liked, the 9 year old enjoyed the freedom of choosing his own food and without being asked they took the trouble to prepare something especially for my mother who has a specific food allergy, The place was spotless and no one bothered us in 2 hours, a great experience

enjoyed eating here in the evening a few times, it's basic but the food has always been fresh and lots of choice. Went at lunchtime today and it wA atrocious . Hardly any food apart from deep fried nuggets,chips onion rings, battered mushrooms that had been sitting there for hours. The stir fry veg tray was left had been there so long the carrots were pale pink. No meat other than deep fried pork, deep fried chicken wings and a beef stir fry that was so tough it was inedible. Even the standard chicken and sweetcorn soup was just labelled sweetcorn . Plus 3.50 for half a pint of flat coke. I'd go back in the evening but never again at lunch. Totally ripped off.

After enjoying a nice meal during a prior visit, we decided to plan another visit to the restaurant. However, our experience this time around was disappointing. The restaurant's opening hours are inconsistent across different websites, making it difficult to determine if they will be open or closed. Unfortunately, our attempts to contact the restaurant by phone were unsuccessful, as we were met with continuous ringing, an unavailable signal, or being promptly disconnected after the phone was answered. For the third time this year we have travelled some distance to enjoy Buffet City only to find the premises are closed for some reason or another. We 've tried phoning in advance but the phone never gets answered, in fact they dont appear to have a landline visible in the restaurant. We have previously found the buffet excellent value for money but to turn up and find it closed when it 's advertised as open on social media etc. and they don 't answer calls is unacceptable. Today we tried to call, no answer and when we arrived tonight 's excuse for not opening was 'closed for refurbishment '.
