"We chose the €40 menu (having fortunately decided against the €55 gourmet menu). The head waiter (aged about 20, friendly but quite untrained) couldn 't find our booking. The starter arrived before the aperitifs. Our waiter was about 18 years old, wearing a sleeveless T shirt, and utterly clueless. Starters the foie gras was good, but came with far too much tired salad, smothered in a very mediocre dressing. The gambas were terrible 6 very small ones on a skewer, sitting on top of a huge salad of tired lettuce leaves and dressing. They were very salty, and a bit dry. Main course we all had the saint jacques. The dish should have been called hard, diced, partiallly cooked carrot and courgette with lots of beansprouts, sitting inside a large pastry bowl, with 4 small and over cooked saint jacques on top . It was appalling the saint jacques were tasteless, the vegetables were almost raw, and the whole lot was smothered in an orange dressing which I think was meant to be based on mango. We never discovered the point of the pastry, but it was probably the least offensive part of the whole. Dessert we waited 25 mins for a menu (which had 2 choices). We then waited about the same again for our moelleux au choclat, which tasted as if it had been cooked from frozen, and not cooked enough. Luke warm on the inside, very dry, and cold on the outside. It came with a scoop of mint ice cream, which was quite nice but is readily available in any supermarket. We didn 't bother with coffee. Wine was a 2008 Sancerre, over priced at €38. The first bottle was corked, but replaced with apologies. The boy in charge was doing his best, and trying hard, but the service was catastrophically disorganised. No waiters over the age of 21. Lots of customers were very unhappy. At least one group left mid way through their meal, taking their unfinished wine with them. Buldo has a fabulous location on the riverside by the Ile Barbe. But it has a dreadful chef, and is clearly quite appallingly managed by people who are filling their pockets serving expensive and bad food. Very disappointing indeed. My worst meal in a restaurant in 10 years living in Lyon."

Je suis arrivé vers 13h sans réservation et j’ai été accepté. Le service était excellent, une serveuse aimable, et à l’écoute. Une belle vue, une belle terrasse. J’ai pris un menu à 39€ et une bouteille de viognier, le tout était excellent.

Ce restaurant au bord de l’eau est non seulement agreable mais Avel des plats typiquement lyonnais entierement faits maison. Merveiileux foie gras, grenouilles a tomber parterre, etc…. Et desserts legers et saboteurs. Je recommende tres fort Visualizza piatti

the buldo restaurant, offers frogs at will and many other delicious dishes at attractive prices. We celebrated a birthday with 12 guests everyone has been delighted with this quiet place on the edge of the Saône, this good meal and this superb birthday cake carefully prepared by the pastry of the restaurant. I would also like to thank the whole team of the buldo that made us spend such a pleasant evening. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

I ate here for a friend's surprise birthday party last week. We were outside sitting right next to the river with a beautiful view of l'ile barbe. Since we were about 15 people, we had a set menu with a few choices for each course. I chose the gaspacho (a bit spicy for my taste but good), the salmon since I'm vegetarian which was just ok... but apparently the duck breast was great and also the potato gratin it came with. For dessert a fondant au chocolat mmmmm. We had a young woman waitress and she was very patient and nice, and the food came promptly. It started pouring right after we got dessert and so we grabbed our plates and wine and ran up the stairs, crossed the street, and took cover...
