Lovely place to have a breakfast. It also has a large variety of foods and tea and caters for vegetarians

We had a Bakewell tart and tea. Umm not very special but it was alright. Just really really busy and loud. Anyway nice place for having tea.

Booked table as there were 6 of us. Staff most accommodating. We needed children's and gluten free meals. Children's were brought quickly and very good sized portions. Gluten free fish and chips were lovely. I'd go again Visualizza piatti

proper home cooked food. I am a native and this is my favorite place in bakewell, which is otherwise full of moderate places to eat. this is a cozy place in the upper floor with a warm real log fire in winter. friendly and pleasant staff. good value to home cooked neat English food. the daily special is always good.

for a coffee was very disappointed by the place. it was dirty and dirty, doesn't look like it was cleaned in months. the toilet facilities were disgusting as for eating, this was a Bakewell-tart, as there is no sign of. the usual recipe. it was soft, the baked was disgusting I would not recommend this place as they have to close it and give it a good facelift. they also need gordon ramsey on the case!

These are upstairs rooms with a variety of tables in just a couple of rooms. Welcomed and seated quickly. The menu isn't vast but I would say adequate for the needs of visitors. Sandwiches with salad, Cole slaw and crisps on the side, were made freshly. Although the bread slices were fairly thick the sandwiches had plenty of filling and tasted very nice. Very poor service. We visited due to the fact that Gluten Free Food was advertised. We ordered coffee, toast and a toasted teacake. Our coffee came and 10 minutes later no sign of our light bite. Other people had come in and received their food before us. We had finished our drinks and decided to leave as we like our food with our coffee. On the way out I spoke to a 'waitress ' and told her why we were leaving. I said I would not pay due to the inconvenience and poor service. We had to find somewhere else then to cater for someone who needed GF food. The tearoom was not busy-5 tables with people incl us. Extremely dissappointed, would not return and would not recommend.

It was certainly an entertaining visit for lunch. After waiting ten minutes someone came to take our order. I asked if they had a menu. Then the different members of the serving team all tried to take our order seconds apart. We ordered two Sunday roasts and three drinks. Only two drinks arrived. After ten more minutes a server came over and asked if the Sunday roasts were beef or chicken. One of each please. Five further minutes later, the server returns and explains that he's very sorry but they only have turkey. We laughed out loud. He didn't understand why. Nobody brought a bill so we hunted the staff down in the kitchen. The bill was wrong. The food was okay. The service was innocently...

Wow, this place has changed and not for the better. Back in the days when Carlos had this place you could get wholesome food served all day, I should know, I used to eat here every Saturday for years before walking in the Peaks. So I recommend Byways to some friends as we're in Bakewell for the day, we arrived at 1.40pm sat down and the waitress asked if we were ready to order, we asked for a few minutes so we could decide, 20 minutes later the waitress came and took our order, but then told us it was too late to order what we wanted, sandwiches and chips, we could now only order cake. So we ordered some teas and coffees and now it's another 20 minutes later and we still haven't had our drin... Visualizza piatti
