Castello Di Valenzano

Non posso dire abbastanza cose belle su questo castello storico. Abbiamo trascorso una notte al castello ed è il mio ricordo preferito dell'Italia. La sensazione della sua età e la bellezza della sua architettura lo rendono un posto fantastico dove pernottare.

Not sure what else to say: the service was slow and poor, even by Italian standards; the food was meh, and the menu was un-creative and unchanging. The restaurant was also closed on days it was supposed to be open, and opened late beyond the posted hour. Call first, or better yet, go elsewhere.

Amazing castle hidden within the northern Arezzo 's hills casentino . Very accurate and kind service, all food cooked on the spot, especially the grilled meat steak, pork chops their specialities and the vegetables grown within their farm. Excellent wine selection of local vignards. Pleasant outdoor seating. The table setting a little bit too cheap not in line with the location, yet a very very nice place. Visualizza piatti

We had a BBQ on the friday and our wedding diner on the saturday. We stayed in the hotel twice before and everything is perfect. All our guest were blown away with the quality of the food.The wine is lovely and the breakfast all you need. Don' t forget to get the chocolate lava cake as desert, it' s devine!! And if this is not enough, the staff is so nice, the views stunningly beautiful and the hotel is great. We are big travellers but this place is definitely a gem!

Siamo stati al Castello e questo ristorante si trova nei terreni non di proprietà del Castello, abbiamo prenotato attraverso la reception dell'hotel. Moltissime famiglie e coppie italiane, noi eravamo gli unici che parlavano inglese lì. Ottimo servizio e cibo eccellente. Ho bevuto un incredibile bicchiere di vino, mi dispiace di non aver chiesto se potevo comprare una bottiglia, ma cercherò di rintracciarla. Ho mangiato gnocchi enormi e farciti con mozzarella, mio marito ha detto che le costine erano molto buone. Il tiramisù era il migliore che abbiamo assaggiato durante il nostro mese in Italia.

We celebrated our Wedding at the Castello di Valenzano. We had arranged everything by e mail, and had not even seen the castle before the day before the wedding. However, we were not disappointed! The castle is beautiful, has a great location high up in the hills outside Arezzo, and is surrounded by lovely gardens. The food is great, and we were incredibly impressed by the service both how they managed to make everything (flowers, food, music) perfectly in accordance to our wishes, and the way they kept everything running smoothly during the day while taking great care of us and our guests. Il nostro soggiorno al castello di Valenzano, lontano da città o negozi, ci ha fatto scoprire il ristorante con cibo fatto in casa molto buono presente sulle sue terre. La pasta fatta in casa e gli arrosti avevano porzioni generose. I loro dolci non erano molto originali, ma il gelato e la macedonia di frutta erano sempre presenti. Una buona selezione di vini permetteva al visitatore di provare alcuni dei migliori vini regionali italiani. Dopo colazione, una passeggiata nel piccolo parco era un'opportunità per passeggiare tra gli alberi vecchi ancora in piedi. on our last day in italy this year, we had dinner in the castello di valenzano. It was a steep road up in the dark but then there it was not a italian house or villa but a real castle, a big one ! after looking a bit for the entrance of the restaurant we climbed up the stairs and found an empty place. Yes it was wednessday evening but empty ? We had a look on the menu, very sympathetic chef de salle by the way, and three of us had the menu 25 euro for 25 dishes (yes you have red right! and my sun had the classical antipasto and afterwards the steak. Only open Thursday thru Sunday when we were there, so we just caught Saturday night and Sunday. We didn't know what to expect, and were thrilled to be delighted! A dark walk (9pm up old stone stairs to an unassuming old wooden door... we opened thinking we must be in the wrong place. The place was packed! So warm and cheery and the food smelled DIVINE. We ordered a bunch (pizza x 2 one for each of us! and pici pasta and beer and we couldn't wait to come back again the next day to try the things we couldn't make room for! LOL.
