Chez Anne - Le Relais de la Vere

We were brought here by friends who had recently moved to the area and were given the warmest of welcomes by Anne. The meal she cooked for us was delicious good traditional home cooking. We will go back if in the area again!

Previous revies are very accurate. This is a lovely place. Unprententious, friendly hosts, and sound food and some particularly nice homegrown vegetables. This is a good French style cafe restaurant of which there used to be so many and it is the...kind of place that you will be happy to go to time and time again.

We were staying locally and Chez Anne was recommended to us for lunch. We dropped by a couple of days in advance to make our booking because our daughters are vegans. We had a very enjoyable eating experience.

We happened to be passing at lunchtime and decided to stop for lunch. It looks plain from the outside but we were warmly welcomed and ate an very good three course lunch. As someone has posted earlier this is the sort of place that used...to be commonplace in France but seems to be getting harder and harder to find, an honest, simple restaurant with good service and excellent value for money food. If we are anywhere near in the future we’ll make a point of returning.

Delicious French home cooked meal.We visited Chez Anne on Saturday night and we were not disappointed!!.The service was friendly and I got a chance to use my limited French as the lovely owners don't speak English and why should they as we are visitors to...their Country and I believe we should make the effort to learn even a little of the language!!Our courses were all fresh and delicious and along with wine was not expensive.If you are in the area it is well worth a visit. We took some visitors to Chez Anne yesterday as they wanted to experience a true French country lunch. It could not have been better. menu du jour. It started with fois grois on toast with a delicious beetroot and onion relish. Next a delightful...fresh salad platter to share and then coquelet served with a small medley of veggies. Finally a crusty slice fruit tart with coffee to follow.The red wine went down treat to. Chez Anne thank you. The weather was horrible outside and you cheered us up with your fabulous food and friendly service. We will return again soon.

Run by Anne, who cooks up a storm in the kitchen, Chez Anne caters for the locals and a bit of passing trade. There's a small bar in the front, and a terrace with a few tables. Service is amiable and entirely in french, and...off season you need to book or be prepared to eat an omelet. They serve good, honest home cooking daube, chicken stew, piles of frites, enormous platters of charcuterie and salad to start and Anne's amazing (and tooth-achingly sweet) desserts baked Alaska, waffle with marmalade sauce, ice cream with Turkish Delight. We have been many times and are very fond of this place it doesn't look much from the outside but it is unpretentious, friendly, and not pricey.

Thiis is a quiet restaurant in a small village. On our first visit we arrived towards the end of lunchtime, when there was little food left. The owners offered to cook omlettes and frites, which were very tasty. We were advised by the owners to...call and book beforehand in future, as the restaurant is not always open. We duly followed their advice and on our second visit enjoyed a delicious lunch. My starter salad came with large prawns and squid, in a delicious slightly smoky, tomato and black olive sauce.
