"We entered the Rose and Crown that day, but did not stay. Here 's why...it was very crowded and we were about 10th in line to order at the bar. When it was finally our turn, the bartender turned to the side and served a person who simply walked up and didn 't bother to honor the queue. I mentioned to the bartender that we had been waiting a very long time in line and he just blew us off and took the order of someone else who just walked up to the side of the bar (where no one was queuing). He didn 't say a word. So I said, Well, we 're leaving then. He said, good bye. We found him extremely rude with a complete lack of customer service. We had several friends meeting us for lunch and drinks and we happily went to another pub which actually welcomed our business. We visit the UK every year and go pub hopping all day long. British pubs are usually known for their friendliness so this was just about the worst pub we have ever stepped into in 40 years."

"This is not a review of the food, as I didn't eat. Nor is it the accomodation, as I didn't stay. It is a review of a pint of Guinness I had there today. Tuesday afternoon, nice and quiet.. popped in for a pint. £5.10p. Very reasonable. Unfortunately downhill from there. I'll bullet point the problems.. to avoid a drawn out affair.. 1. The glass wasn't dry. You can tell this from the creeping mottled effect visible. 2. The head is about 5mm 3. There is Guinness spilt down the outside of the glass. 4. It tasted utterly awful. The first three problems on this list are forgivable.. but the last isn't. I've had many pints of Guinness, in many places.. but this was in the bottom 3. Very disappointed. Given that you can buy a four pack from the supermarket for roughly the same outlay.. people bemoan pubs going out of business... but do we ask why? Bartenders being able to pour/keep a decent pint helps.."

"Great food. Best lasagna I’ve ever had, I’m a regular foodie. Constantly trying new places and quite simply this was the best lasagna I’ve had. Filled to the brim, came piping hot, loads of cheese, loads of mince and absolutely loads of flavour. Came with 4 slices of lovely garlicky garlic bread too. Proper, fresh, hot, soft pizza dough,m and not that frozen baguette rubbish you often get. Boyfriend had GF ham and pineapple pizza (well bacon and pineapple). That came on a sourdough base and again it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve seen. Normally GF are soggy and don’t have much filling but this came packed and was delicious so I was told! Nice accessible pay and display car park round the corner too. Only negative is please sort your menu out. The layout is just a mess! Good range of food and starters though. Dietary restrictions: Have vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Lasagne"

"We visited the restaurant earlier in the week and noticed tables were fairly full but the bar restaurant seemed to have a calm/romantic atmosphere so decided to book for Friday for an evening meal... Big mistake!! Atmosphere was great for a group of rugby lads or a hen do but you couldn't hear yourself think for rowdy tables never mind place an order. The waitress actually brought out more drinks than we'd ordered because she misheard us, we were just too awkward to say anything so drank them and paid extra my partners food was great she had the brisket. I had the burger and would have personally given it a 3/5. I think this restaurant specializes in pizza though so id go for something like that next time... The interior and decor was lovely though I got the vibe the whole place is riding some massive tiktok popularity waive like a load of boomers have just discovered the place and decided to throw on their leopard print and feather hats. 10/10 for rowdy vibes and good customer service. 7/10 food. 1/10 romantic on a weekend but looked like a solid 8/10 if we'd gone two days before"

"Not impressed with the poor service and terrible fish received from Chippy bank. The staff serving were very rude and lack any customer service skills. Staff were very snappy in ordering us where to stand to be served. We wasn't the only customers to be treated this way. They serve regulars ok but not anyone new. Very unprofessional and we will go elsewhere in future! As for the food the fish was terrible! If you can find it underneath the concrete mash of batter. They can't be bothered taking the skin off the fish either. First chippy we've ever been to where the skin remains. There was more skin then fish. I gave two stars because the chips were actually ok but don't expect to receive value for money because although the chips were good, they were scarce! We won't be returning"
