delicious meals, good portions, friendly helpful service. desserts were amazing, make sure they leave room!

THis is good, well run pub. We had good food and the service was good. I had steak, a portion that was huge and could have fueled me for the next day...

beautiful small local pub with a relaxed atmosphere, there for a few yesterday, as there is an unexpected 2 hours waiting from a high-time ceremony to reception x

this pub is really nice with a beautiful local feeling, it. the weather was friendly and we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the church. we had the Sunday bunch that was really good and plentiful. quicker visit at the kirchhof was very interesting. I couldn't get into the church itself.

My first visit to this restaurant was truly memorable. The history of the Bolitho family and their connection to the Coldstream Guard Association, in honor of their fallen son in Tunisia 1947, adds a unique and touching touch to the experience. Really nice pub with lots of local history we had been told by a friend to visit. Nicely done inside the drinks are good value. We felt as if we were outsiders the locals are obviously the main clientele here so looked after first. We were going to eat here but decided to go elsewhere as we felt we weren’t welcome. Nice place to visit for a couple of drinks.

Shame really, I wanted this to be our local but we went for a meal there yesterday and my fish and chips were dripping in grease, so much so that the fat dripped over off the fish onto the table, even the chips were soggy and greasy. I think they just needed draining for a bit. Hubby loved his steak pie but he's not over fussy, the sticky toffee pudding wad nice though. Barmaid was very polite and efficient. Not sure I'd go back UPDATE NEW OWNERS AND THE FOOD IS LOVELY!

an evening meal was convened here before a country could continue. easy to find, just a few minutes car from a30. parking on the road. 6 of us on a table. not a big choice, but perhaps that is the reason why it works, steak, fish and chips, cake of the day, jäger chicken mainstays. drinks soon arrived enough, eating was a bit longer, but they had a series of diners and a party of 12 but that was worth it. also a new whitebait starter, plentiful and pleasant. the staff was polite, busy, but easy to go. fire in the other half of the pub, but much warm enough for us about 20m away. all were decent for our eternal hungry teenagers.
