"This is a bijou gastro pub and our first visit. It has 3 bedrooms, all modernised and tastefully furnished with very comfortable beds. The rooms are quiet and relaxing. The staff were all lovely very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pub has quite a large dining room in a new extension at the rear. It offers a set menu on certain days and an À la carte. We opted for the set menu as it was well balanced and also included a glass of wine, all in for £25. It was well presented and delicious. What's not to like? If you're working, be warned breakfast isn't served until 9:00am, but it's well worth waiting for as the chefs prepare it. As we visit travel down from Manchester to see old friends in Henley regularly, we'll certainly be back, always assuming we can get in. It was a lovely stay in classic rural location. "We initially visited the nearby Greyhound Inn, where we encountered a rude man who told us not to park in the reserved parking lot. When we mentioned we wanted to eat, he was dismissive and insisted we needed to book a table. Disappointed, we decided to try the Unicorn instead. What a difference! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the menu was reasonably priced and expertly prepared. We enjoyed our meal in the beautiful garden, served by two young women named Rachel and Laura. They were professional, attentive, and friendly. I would suggest that the staff at the Greyhound visit the Unicorn to see how customers should be treated. I recommend skipping the Greyhound and heading straight to the Unicorn. I would give the Unicorn five stars and the Greyhound zero stars due to the poor service we experienced."

"Service was terrible. We had to keep going to the bar to ask for drinks, condiments, cutlery etc Large fish and chips was the same size as a co diners small except a few more chips.when this was mentioned to the waiter we were offered some extra chips. Both the fish chips were not freshly cooked and had obviously been cooked and kept warm for some time. Not crispy. Ketchup mayonnaise served in the same pot!! We went to the bar to pay and a customers dog was lying in front of the restaurant exit in full view of all the bar staff. He didn’t move the dog out of the way so we had to step over the dog to get out. No one asked him to move the dog from being a trip hazard. When paying the bill we asked that the discretionary 12% service charge be removed as we didn’t get good service. We were told they were not able to remove it so gave us a complementary drink instead but no apology. Walking to the car on checking the bill we noticed we had been charged for a bottle of Prosecco instead of a glass. Went back again no apology from the young man got the bottle refunded but still out of pocket on the service charge against the £32.95 bottle There was a lady behind the bar that had just started service who was the only person to offer an apology. Such a shame as we went regularly during the summer and food was always good. Also prices on website are not the same as on the restaurant menu. We Won’t rush back"

"The restaurant has recently changed ownership and the improvements are remarkable. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is outstanding. It's great value for money and the dishes are delicious. They offer a wide selection for both adults and kids, with a fantastic three-course Sunday Roast option featuring beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and vegetarian choices. The restaurant also has a playground where kids can play freely. It's definitely worth a visit if you have young children and want them to have a great time."

"Excellent midweek lunch. Five of us met for a reunion . We had Roast turkey , lamb chops and roast hake all included vegetables and potatoes. Service was attentive and friendly. Food cooked fresh so don't expect to rush. Food was presented beautifully, was delicious and perfectly cooked. Flavors excellent. We would all like to return and try what the others had next time. There is a Christmas set menu for prebooked parties, some items are on the a la carte Lovely pub with a log burner fire, atmospheric decor and furnishings. Interesting pictures including old album covers and movie photos Price was lower than other comparable restaurants, so offered good value considering the quality. ."
