"Went for afternoon tea and cake with my friend and my grandchildren. Although the food and drink were very nice i did have an issue with the children’s outside play area. We sat outside so that we could see them but in order to be able for them to get to the play area they had to go round the courtyard and in through the cafe and through another door ! Seemed absolutely crazy when there was an opening right in front of the courtyard that had been blocked with pots of plants so nobody could get through!! I spoke to the lady who was serving and she said it was a safety issue!! The fact that young children were running through the cafe where staff were carrying hot food and drinks seemed far more of a safety issue to me !!"

We had a great family day out at Cowdray Estate. Enjoyed our walk and then had wonderful food and coffee at the cafe. The staff are so friendly and looked after us in every detail. Highly recommended.

Don’t turn up between 11.30 and noon as it’s the witching half hour! No breakfast and no sandwiches or lunch! Bizarre. Also the snack shop outside advertises sausage rolls but turns out only on the weekends!

Inside or outside seating. We chose outside. I had a warm king prawn salad. Beans, and quote a lot of olives. Tasty, but may not be to everyone's taste. My wife had salmon, potato and salad. Not cheap, good quality food.

Had the most lovely lunch with my son. All courses were delicious and the service as ever was attentive and delightful. This cafe never disappoints and I often come in for a coffee after a dog walk as the atmosphere so welcoming.

We stopped by here yesterday for a quick lunch en route to the Chichester Festival Theatre. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh and the triple cooked chips THE best ! The service was efficient and friendly. Shame we did not get the name of our server who was superb.Would highly recommend!

What is it about this cafe. Always running out of something. Today it was teapots. As a result those of our group who where having tea didn’t get it until the others had finished their coffee or chocolate. And they weren’t even apologetic. One couple at a nearby table, got up and left. Cowdray cafe get your act together.

We had a lovely bright airy table we arrived for breakfast brunch! Lovely menu to choose from , coffees all round poached egg bacon toast for 2 , bacon sandwiches on toast for one scrambled egg on toast for one. All delicious well presented , excellent service as it is a go to when we are in this area we will definitely be back again ! Well done everyone !

I love this place for a coffee before or after a dog walk have had breakfast/brunch many times, as I did today. However while the setting is lovely, the coffee is excellent the overall experience is usually an 8 or 9, I really wanted to post this review to say that all of this is despite the food being never bad but consistently extremely average only a 5 or 6 at best. Much as I am a fan of the Cowdray Cafe I always leave wishing the food had been of a higher standard being slightly surprised that for an organisation like the Cowdray Estate this is not the case.
