"Beautiful old Inn that deserves a visit. Good range of ales and a warm welcome, graced by some delicious food provided with a smile. Mother-in-law had egg and chips, which was plain food cooked well. Just as she liked it. The waitress asked if mum wanted beans with her meal and these were freely produced to enhance her enjoyment. My partner Lynn had a gorgeous turkey brie sandwich, coming with a side salad. Whilst I enjoyed a large bowl of Tomato and Basil Soup with bread butter. Frankly, I would rename the soup as something like: Stupendous! Sumptuous or, possibly, misspell Superb! As all would fit this gorgeous concoction of creamy goodness mixed with spices topped by a sprinkle of Basil. We have noted this little treasure near Birdlip and will pass this way again."

"We always order from White Horse in Gloucester but unfortunately they were closed due to flooding. We ordered a delivery from here and firstly noticed it was in a bag half the size of our usual takeaway albeit a bit cheaper (although after they had added the delivery charge on it was the same). The portions were tiny but it didnt matter as the food was disgusting. The rice was an odd colour and congealed. The sweet and sour chicken contained more peppers than chicken, crispy chilli beef wasn't crispy and the chicken chow mein bland. I called the restaurant twice, the first time put on hold before I could utter a word then cut off and the second time the phone just rang and rang. The ONLY positive was the friendly delivery girl. Just awful, inedible slop. Avoid this place at all cost."

"we can't owe the wonderful meal and service we had last week on Thursday night when we came together. thanks to dawn, the cook, for the delicious and generous portions and on aaron and josh for the attentive and friendly table and bar service. "Truly amazing experience, the staff are friendly, welcoming and very attentive, nothing is too much trouble, the food,,,, where do I start, Sunday Roast as I mentioned to the owner was perfect, four meat roast, lamb, beef, Chicken and pork was cooked to perfection as was the vegetables, my Daughter had the children's version which was more than ample for an 8 year old, I then had dessert, not that I had much room left, salted Caramel cheesecake, OMG that topped off a really nice Father's day at the Old Elm Inn, and the dessert was free to Daddies as it was Father's Day, can't wait to go back, nothing but A1 to all the staff"
