Dragon Court Chinese

Instantly didn’t feel well and even refused to pay for one of the dishes (chicken chow mien) it was that bland. Won’t be visiting again

My wife and I recently migrated to S Wales from Hong Kong. We were delighted to find a restaurant serving authentic HK style dim sum. I suggest that those who criticise the food are those who unfortunately think what is served up in local takeaways is real HK food. Chips and curry are not Chinese dishes!

We have visited 3 times since being recommended by. Chinese lady we met in an Italian restaurant !!! Having lived in Cardiff for 7 years we have at long last found a Chinese restaurant that is superb in terms of quality, service and ambience. The give away is that there are always Chinese families earning there. Parking is so easy as well. What can’t you like ?

Very nice restaurant. Went with my friend . Ordered from authentic menu . Not all I to my taste but plenty of veggie options. Very large portions and mostly tasty. Orderd 4 main dishes . Enough for 3 people per portion . For 2 people just order 2 mains and 1 side dish. Also ordered ,3 cans soft drinks. The bill was £185 pounds which is hugely expensive. They also have an English /Chinese menu which I think would be more to my taste but didn't look at that

I want to extend my gratitude to Diane and the team at The Dragon Court Chinese restaurant for providing an exceptional dining experience for my father's 80th birthday celebration. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect, the food was absolutely delightful, and Diane's kindness and attentiveness towards my dad made the occasion truly special. It was the perfect setting for our intimate family gathering and a night we will always cherish.

We arrived as booked at 1pm. For simplicity we ordered a set menu for 3 people and 2 side orders of chips to keep the kids happy. The first starter didnt arrive until 2.30. The food was ok, but nothing special, the sauces tasted pre prepared rather than freshly made, which made the wait feel even worse. The kids didnt get their chips until we asked again for them. In most Chinese restaurants a set meal for 3 would comfortably feed 4 or 5. This one didnt fill up 3 people. We'd been told good things about this restaurant, but we wont be going back, that's for sure.

I recently visited Good World Chinese Restaurant for the first time and I will definitely be returning. The staff gave us a warm welcome and were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent - we had spring rolls, wontons, and chicken satay skewers for starters, followed by duck with ginger and spring onions, duck with plum sauce, chicken with noodles, and beef with ginger and spring onions. The meat was incredibly tender and almost melted in our mouths. The portions were generous and the prices were excellent value. We regret not taking any photos to capture our delicious meal.

Unfortunately, what we received was meat drowned in overly sweet and gloopy sauces that did not taste fresh at all. The biggest disappointment was the Cantonese shredded beef, which we specifically asked if it was crispy beef and were assured that it was (even though there was a language barrier). However, what we got was some sort of reconstituted beef that did not resemble or taste like beef at all. For the three of us, the meal cost over £90 with only tap water to drink. We will not be returning to this restaurant. I suggested trying the Riverside next time, where the food is clearly freshly cooked without drowning in sugary sauces. What a great suprise ! I had read a a good review of this restaurant by a local food critic and thought I’d try here . Normally go to the riverside or summertime place in Llandaff I’ve passed this place for years without even realising it was there as it’s above the casino in the retail park and barely noticeable. Was instantly impressed with the decor and how busy it was it was Sunday lunch and nearly all of the tables were full mostly with Asian families having lunch which no took to be a good sign .
