"We booked a family meal for 11, admittedly the morning of going. The lady that worked there was so unbelievably rude we couldn’t quite believe it. As soon as we were seated she told us what roasts they had left and made a huge deal of ‘saving these’ for us. Her exact words were ‘I could have sold these hours ago’. Whilst that was kind, we were told this repeatedly. The food itself was enjoyable until we asked for an extra small jug of gravy which was like asking for her kidney! My mum asked a lady behind the bar if she could get a drink in for my brother (In our village this is normal but perhaps not here), the member of staff readily agreed and took the money. When it come to getting the drink, the rude lady said that they did not do that there. My mum explained that she did wonder however the girl had agreed and taken payment. The lady advised that that particular member of staff had gone home, luckily another member of staff had witnessed this. The rude lady then made a huge point about how lucky we were as she would not usually allow this.To sum up, the food was great, especially for the reasonable price however the lady who appeared as the boss was so rude we will not be coming back!"

There are a limited number of menu options available and the food is average at best. The ambiance is lacking, and overall, it is not a good value for the money.

I think you may be confusing me with ‘another’ unhappy customer! I am the customer who got shoved in to a poxy room that smelt damp and the bathroom had a strong smell of urine! I never had a dog!

Nice venue with ample parking. Great choice of ales if you like them. Was quiz night so didn't stay long. The chilli nachos were spot on for a light snack for 2 sharing. Will be visiting again maybe next time for a proper meal

Charming old house, the room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was that our room was at the front of the house and Oxford Road is a busy street, so there was no traffic noise all night, but that's just one of those things there's nothing to do. Visualizza piatti

We got to Easington to go out for lunch in 28. 7. 2017 at 6:30, we order food for 4 adults and 1 child. Each field arrived with good distribution and the food was very good quality all night. The staff was friendly and friendly and made sure that every aspect of our experience was taken care of. In general, 10 for food and service.

Lovely and picturesque house. Delicious breakfast served by a very friendly and cheerful staff. However comfortable bedroom not as clean as I expected. Used handkerchiefs were found under the bed and wedges in ceilings. Despite the lack of quality toiletries provided announced. No spare tray with clean cups or replace the second day after stay (we stay 3 nights)

Good point. The staff was lovely. Negative points. My room (15) was very small and needed adequate cleaning. There was a blanket and a heavy mattress on the bed, the blanket did not smell clean and the mattress actually had blood stains. The bathroom was very small was dirty. An hour of cleaning tiles, shower and stained toilet would do wonders. If you have a room on the ground floor, wait for the crispy ceilings to be awakened. Visualizza piatti

To all tradespeople considering working for this restaurant: don't do it! I was asked to attend a site meeting and provide detailed costs for each stage of the project. After completing the work and being criticized for finishing too quickly, I was informed that they would not be paying the invoice. No explanation was given. This is the first time in almost six years of business that a client has refused to pay me. While it may be a nice place to stay, it is located in Banbury, so it's probably not worth the trouble.

My husband and I went out for Sunday lunch at this restaurant. We were looking at the menu when the manageress approached us and informed us that we were seated in the family area, where children can be noisy. The area was nearly empty, with only an elderly man sitting alone at one table. Despite this, the manageress suggested that we move to the bar area, as children were not allowed there. It was clear that she wanted us to relocate. This was not the first time we had encountered issues with this unfriendly manageress, so we took it personally and decided to leave. We will not be returning to this restaurant again.

"Sadly not quite up to expectations. We were seated promptly on arrival and our order was taken quickly. The food that was served was of a good standard. However there were a few things throughout the meal that let the side down slightly. I ordered the bread and houmous for starter, when it arrived there was no houmous. When I questioned this I was told they didn't have any left, the waitress asked what I would like instead not a question I can answer with out being given a list of options! When we asked her to find out she came back from the kitchen saying there was no alternative, would I like some butter. Had I known all of this before ordering I would have chosen something other than bread and butter. Another member of our party who arrived after the initial group ordered a lime and soda to drink but was served what tasted like a lemonade instead, when this was questioned she was told it was the lime and soda she asked for, yet it tasted very different to the lime and soda ordered by another member of the group... When it came to dessert, it was asked if the sticky toffee pudding came with ice cream as it wasn't mentioned on the menu, we were told it did. However when the desserts arrived there was no ice cream, when we queried this we were each given a small ramekin containing one scoop of chocolate ice cream, a little bit of an odd combination with sticky toffee pudding and a shame not to have had it all on the same plate. Finally, as much as we love dogs, having them constantly run under the table around our feet wasn't ideal for a sunday lunch time. It's a shame the service and attention to detail wasn't quite up to scratch as the majority of the food could not be faulted at all and they catered well for the various dietary requirements of the group."

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
