"This place was referred to us by the owner of the place we stayed. She said they have excellent food, so we went. I was with my friend who speaks the language. To much of our dismay, the manager or owner was so mean to us. We were just standing there, and he has nothing to do with us. No smile, mean man. We told him we want a table but he said no, every table is occupied. To our eyes, there were lots of tables that were empty. My friend asked if we can set in the bar, which is totally empty, and in a very rude tune told us absolutely not . I was already at the doorway, so embarrassed but my friend still insisted to be seated. I am a restaurant owner myself, with 5 restaurants on my belt. I treat my customers with respect no matter how they look like. Maybe we just don 't fit in or maybe because we are not locals, especially me, I am Asian American. I never experience racism ever, now I know."

"Hará unos 10 años de la primera vez que mi familia y yo nos quedamos a dormir en este microhostal, y desde entonces hemos vuelto todos los años. Villafranca es un sitio maravilloso en medio de El Bierzo que merece la pena visitar y no hay mejor sitio que La Puerta del Perdón para disfrutar al máximo de tu estancia. Herminio, el dueño del microhostal y quien se encarga de llevarlo, es genial. Te hace sentir en casa desde el primer momento. Las habitaciones son increiblemente acogedoras y son modernas a la par que rústicas. Definitivamente no hay mejor sitio donde dormir en El Bierzo. Y no nos olvidemos del fantástico desayuno! Tostadas, un bizcocho propio del microhostal, y una calurosa acogida por parte de Herminio. Simplemente, PERFECTO."

"disappointment with the account manager. if there is a menu that includes drink and dessert. And you ask for something that's out of the menu, logically you have to charge it on the side. but at least they have to warn you, if you have or do not have the right to a dessert that includes the menu, or two wines, or 2 bottles. It's clear. since it's not read. otherwise, good service and food is not bad"

"Comida rica, casera y en abundancia. Pedimos el menú que incluía postre y bebida y salimos más que llenos. El precio tendiendo en cuanta el resto de bares/restaurantes de la zona, asequible. Los demás se pasan de precio (en mi opinión). Como sugerencia, estaría bien poder comer medio menú o que ofrecieran la opción de carta, es una pena tirar comida."

"SIN HISTORIA Tras leer algunas de las cartas de los restaurantes de la plaza mayor, decidí que en este los precios eran más ajustados y me quedé. Revuelto de setas con cecina (obviamente, los dos pedazos de cecina ocultos bajo dos trozos de setas), churrasco (digamos que no se encuentra entre los mejores que he probado), caña sin alcohol, y una bola de helado de chocolate como postre, 15€."
