"Firstly I will say I have eaten here several times and always been impressed with the food and the service. Decided to take them family down for a breakfast on a rare Sunday when everybody was not busy. Started queuing , there was a couple in front of us that were waiting to be seated that gave up despite half the main restaurant being empty. There only appeared to be two people serving and they were rushed off their feet. Eventually seated outside as no tables big enough inside for our party size but the table were filthy so ended up cleaning ourselves. Eventually ordered, half the drinks came after 10 minutes, the food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive and no hot drinks served. Hot drinks turned up as we were finishing food. The sausage on the lounge breakfasts are normally nice tasty big pork sausages, today was 1 tiny thin sausage with no taste, the bacon was burnt to a crisp, cold beans just not good. Staff seemed harassed as they were over run. For the money charged today was certainly a let down, every other time I have been has been weekdays and the food is usually great and service good so maybe an off day today."

"Enjoyed a great meal on opening night 11/11. food was excellent and service great. (Keeley is an excellent host/server efficient and friendly overseeing all staff and tables but still managing to have a chat with guests). New decor is fresh and bright and the atmosphere was lovely. Good luck Green Man a great start I’m sure you will be well supported! Just to add a comment several months down the line we have visited many times both just for a drink but also for meals. Food remains a high standard and service is efficient and friendly. Atmosphere no idea why a recent review rated it as 2/5 because it’s always been lively and fun."

"I had heard somewhere, ages ago, that this was a good place to eat so I took the girlfriend to celebrate her getting her new job. It was a great experience! It was busy, which added to the ambiance, but we were served promptly at the bar and able to sit whilst we waited on our table, as we arrived a little early. The interior was cozy and well presented. Every member of the staff was approachable and helpful. The food was amazing!! We had the venison and the lamb. Both were beautifully presented and tasted great. The desserts were an absolute treat too. A creme brulee and a fruit meringue. I will visit again."

"Food was nice, but some waiting staff seem a little inexperienced to be front of house for a restaurant that obviously prides itself on good Tripadvisor reviews. Buffet was quite expensive, and the restaurant honestly seem a bit nervous about losing money, hence the rules surrounding the buffet: Leftover food can 't be taken home (fair enough) excess leftover food may be charged for, everyone on the table must east the buffet, (so one person can not eat from the normal menu if others in the party are eating from the buffet). Staff wanted to know how many pieces of each starter we wanted, e.g Lamb Tikki. How many pieces? Two? Three? What would you give to someone ordering a starter off the normal menu? I 'll take that many please... Staff did not know the difference between the beers, saying 'it 's just a beer ' when asked the difference between two of the drafts. Small bottle of coke was £3.50. However, food was very nice which is the name of the game. Atmosphere was OK. Bill was quite expensive... I 'd go again if in a group."

"This was my first time visiting this restaurant. The staff was delightful and the food was delicious, with fair pricing. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the sausages. I gave it 4 stars because the tables were sticky, which was the only disappointing aspect of my experience. Despite this, I will be going back and I am confident that if I had mentioned the issue, it would have been promptly resolved."
