Can say only good words about this place! Amazing tasty food! Outstanding customer service very polite waitress! Small, but very cozy place! We had a dinner with business partners we have been served in an excellent level

As Rubens was full. We went to EssBar as an alternative. Ambiance of restaurant is nice. Tables well spaced. Service fine. We only had mains. My cod dish was tasty. The Chardonnay by the glass moderately priced and quite okay. Next time I would want...to try their course bib gourmand menu.

Very small but cosy little restaurant. The food was very good, although the portions were a bit too big. So I only had a starter and a main. But.... I would definitely come back here, because I'm already excited to try one of the desserts!...Also the service was good here. Compliments to the waitress who was serving all tables on her own. She did a great job

Currently travelling and eating out a lot and so it was a pleasant change to dine with a colleague in a neighbourhood bistro that they new well. Starter was an innovative take on a traditional German blood sausage dish and main was asparagus risotto as...it was in season 'Spargelzeit'. Both were very good. No room for a dessert but colleague said that the citron tart was particularly good

Ate here with Mrs Btm last night. Nice atmosphere, good service you wouldn't want to be in a rush to eat up and get out, with just the one lady serving, but we were up for a leisurely dinner and fair prices. excellent starters,...good desserts. My main course spargel was good, herself reports that hers was rather bland. Nevertheless, very good overall and if we were in the area again we'd be back. A nice change from the Altstadt

We had a very nice seasonal dinner. My wife had sea trout, whilst I had the special goose. Both were lovely. Washed down with a Pfalz white wine of very good quality. We shared a desert. The name escapes me; but it came with mulled...wine and was delicious. The service was extremely friendly and efficient I do not know how she managed the whole place by herself, but she did. This place only accepts German debit cards aka cash. Cost including a modest German style tip

we enjoyed its refined and surprising taste. This restaurant atmosphere is rather “bar” than “restaurant” . Funny mixture of elegant table setting without linens, nice silverware but not full sets and so on. The cuisine is rather “restaurant” than “bistrot” They are much more refined...and carefully prepared which gave our palette full scale of enjoyment. Good wine list, extended choices from Germany to new world wine with reasonable price. It is preferable to reserve a table by the kitchen if you wish to have quiet moment

Went because of all of the positive reviews on TA but was quite disappointed. The pluses: easy to get in pretty empty, close to Mitte, lighting is soft, single waitress was nice enough. The minuses: MOST of the menu is fried even scallops?!, the chanterelle...risotto was served scaldingly hot as tho it had been premade and then overnuked and the side salad came drenched in dressing. Add some average bread and tiny wine pours and it's nowhere I would recommend. Tip: if you do go, order wine by the bottle not glass for better value given size of pours

What a nice little cosy restaurant. We were in Düsseldorf just for a weekend, my girlfriend did make reservations from home based on reviews. We did not really know what to expect, but it was a nice surprise! A great meal, a kind service, though...it was much for one waitress on her own. The menu didn't make a difference in starter and main course, so we both took just one meal. For me it was just enough. So no complaints about a too big portion from me, like other reviewers said. That s why I also did take a desert: filled brie with dates and honey. A great taste, subtile and not too sweet. They have a nice wine selection as well.
