"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"

Friday for lunch to celebrate my 50th birthday. eating was absolutely fantastic. very good enjoyed delicious fresh oysters, followed by perfect poached halibut in muscheln, cream and saphir sauce. the balance of aromen and texture was excellent. very recommend this...local gem of a restaurant. can't wait to go back. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. eating was as good as anything I've ever tried. Mustels were perfect, my wife had Tempoura-Langoustines to begin, and we both had smokies in maische as a pornstar that was just so amazingly delicious. All...served by the beautiful caitlin, so knowledgeable about the munu in the offer 10/10

Had the most amazing lunch at Fins after so many years of always wanting to go there. We had Cullen Skink which was hot and tasty, paired with the lovely home made bread. We then moved onto the hot shellfish platter which was absolutely delicious....It had oysters, mussels, langoustines, and squat tail lobster. It easily fed us both. We were well looked after by Caitlin and Phoebe thank you both. Really cannot recommend this enough and will definitely be going back on my next visit.

I am ashamed to admit this is our first visit to this lovely restaurant. We are not easily pleased, especially when it comes to sea food, but we were blown away by the meal tonight. We had oysters to start which were baked to perfection....The langoustine starters were both tasty and plentiful but the main courses were amazing. My wife had a beautiful piece of halibut with so many flavours around it topped with two enormous langoustine. I had the cod on a ratatouille which was cooked to perfection. Having moved back to Ayrshire after some years we were really looking forward to a return visit to Fins and we were not disappointed. I had the mussels in Thai broth to start and my husband had the tempura langoustine. Both terrific. We had the...hot seafood platter to share along with an order of bread and oil. My goodness what a treat! We did our best but had to leave a few squat lobsters. Sacrilege I know but we should not have had the bread even although it was delicious. We have been to this restaurant a few times before over 5 years ago and it was AMAZING! Sadly this was not the case today. Before I write the review would like to point out that we have over 30 years experience in the seafood...trade). We shared both the starters, the scallop starter to be fair was pretty awesome. The langoustines were very small, still in shells (which were very soft) the meat disintegrated when you tried to take them out of the shell (all these things indicate not as fresh as they should be).
