"We popped in for some lunch on our way home and having never been before we thought we’d give this place a try. It was busy so we thought this might be a good sign... The menu was basic, mainly sandwiches, wraps and buns with very few hot choices. Neither Of us wanted a large lunch so we ordered a vegetable soup each and two pots of tea. The drinks arrived quickly and were ok, but the cups are the type where you cannot pick them up solely by the handle without balancing the hot cup against your fingers...not practical or particularly easy to drink out or even pleasant. When the vegetable soup arrived it smelt ok and tasted ok, that was until I discovered it also had bits of pasta, baked beans and potato lurking inside! I would never have ordered vegetable soup had I known it wasn’t vegetable soup, and more a minestrone! Upon closer inspection it actually looked like tinned soup (and not a very good one! , that had had a few fresh vegetables and some extra flavouring thrown in it. I left all of my veg as I got fed up of trying to pick out pasta and beans I also left the white bread bun that accompanied it, as I only eat wholemeal bread and no choice option was was given. As we paid no one asked if our food was ok, and I would have said what I felt given that opportunity, so I’m writing this review instead. This cafe only takes cash as well so that was another inconvenience as I’d just used the last of my cash. Would not recommend and probably won’t return, £12 for soup that gave me indigestion and I only drank the liquid!"

Went for a gorgeous afternoon with mum. Staff are very nice and the shop is immaculate. The choices are fabulous and the cakes are to die for. Recommend time and time again.

Very friendly service . We nearly all had an afternoon tea found it very good value for money. Shame that they will now have to close again but we will certainly be visiting again when able to do so. Visualizza piatti

The websites say the place is open untill 5 pm. When we arrived we was served a coffee and cake but within 20 minutes rushed out of the door as they closed at 4pm. Had to rush out coffee and eat the cake. Would be good if they stopped serving 20 minutes before closure. I would of gone to lids if i known!!

Called in on a Saturday Lunchtime, the girl on the counter seemed more interested in her phone than the customers and there were a few uncleared tables. Ordered a bacon and sausage bagel but they had no bacon (they are 5 shops along from a butchers) and the soup that we ordered was from a tin. We had called here previously and had found it much better before

I went with my friends for a lovely catch up, it was very busy but unfortunately the staff were less than helpful and a little rude, we asked twice if we could order our food and the member of staff say Yes of course, when I have a minute but I saw them serve other people who came in after us! They messed up our drinks order and didn 't know what was i our panini 's. We had to ask twice to order our cakes again not interested in our custom, will not be returning to this place. Had booked for 3 for afternoon tea but when we showed up, the staff laughed and rolled their eyes and said 'oh well we have got a table free I think ' which was a little unprofessional. They also took a while to acknowledge us when we arrived and stood chatting amongst themselves as we waited a little awkwardly. Once we were sat down, decided on just a sandwich instead. It was nice enough and plenty of gluten free options which was nice for me. Staff were friendly after the initial first impressions. Would go back but not in a massive rush and couldn 't recommend it as overly impressive.

It's not Costa, Starbucks or a Michelin star restaurant which some reviewers seem to think it is. It's an independent local café! I visited for the first time for a light lunch, was welcomed and found the ambience comfortable and relaxed with clean, light and airy premises. The menu was what I expected and the display of homemade cakes was much more tempting than the mass produced fare of a Costa or Starbucks. The waitress was very helpful in my decision making for the fillings of my panini and when it came it was professionally and beautifully presented with salad. I only drink a black Americano but it was excellent. Overall the café more than met my expectations and if I'm ever in the area...

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
