"We were staying at the Hotel and after a long day of driving we didn't want to drive any further. Reviews indicated the menu consisted of mainly game meats, and being from California we have no game, worse case we would eat salad! There was only 1 occupied table in the restaurant when we arrived, but it was early and the day before New Years Eve. The restaurant has a new menu, and according to the waiter it hadn't been converted to English yet, so the "Master Chef" came out to go over the menu. I am not sure if he was actually the Chef, as he was wearing a nice dress shift and slacks. He went over each of the items on the menu. When he reached the venison, I suggested he skip the description as I'd had venison as a child and found it to be gamey. He stated they buy young choice venison and it tasted better than their steaks. Based on his recommendation, we decided to order the venison and the larger Pepper Steak and share the meals between the 3 of us. We were brought fresh bread with a delicious spread--strangely enough they took the unfinished bread before the main course was brought out-German custom?? The venison had a lovely sauce with mushrooms, sauted cherries on the side, and broccoli with slivered nuts. Even my 14 year old daughter agreed the venison was to die for! The sauce and the cherries were a perfect accompaniment to the meat. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked. It was served with baked dollops of mashed potatos and green beans. When the waiter brought the food, my husband commented quietly to me he wished he'd ordered red cabbage since it was our last night of vacation. The waiter overhead the comment and brought him a side dish, no charge! We looked at the Dessert Menu and decided the choices were not to our taste. When we told the waiter we weren't interested in dessert he brought a menu with ice cream choices. A scoop was only 1,10 Euros. We couldn't resist--and it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal! Our bill was approximately 45 Euros--excellent for the caliber of meal we enjoyed."

The food was okay, although not all that well cooked. Wine was fine! Service okay but sometimes a bit clumsy.

The food was good here. The wait staff were pleasant. Our orders were correct, and the food was fresh. All in all an enjoyable experience.

The food was absolutely overpriced and inedible! Waited over 1 hour for 4 currywursts. The dishes were dirty and the drinks were not carbonated. Not worth visiting; consider eating somewhere else.

Some of the people give this place bad reference. I can't say I had that experience. Simple salad and soup we had where okay. Waiter was great. Gave good service without being seen. That's a good quality for a waiter.

Great food, wonderful view of a deer park, woods and meadows. When the sun shines it is great for lunch, coffee and dinner. When it is cloudy the indoor restaurant is cozy and elegant. White table cloths and flowers. It is reasonable priced and the food is good. Great walks in the woods and the deer park. One can feed deer and wild pigs. They also offer pony rides for children.

the idyllic setting of the hotel has not compensated that we were asked to pay more for our 3 single rooms than the list price in the rooms. although this discrepanz was mentioned at check-out, it did not seem. negotiable! from this reason, as well as due to other problems that we have experienced in communication (in German) in the specification of our accommodation requirements, we would not return to this hotel.

The hotel is located in a hiking area, in the middle of a breeding area for deer, roe deer and wild boar. For a room with a bathroom where the outlet is loose, the toilet is too low, the shower pan overflows because the drain can 't hold the excess water, the sink drain doesn 't have a filter/grate, the shower faucet is upside down , so you can 't see which side is hot or cold, a contact lamp that lights the room at night, and in the bathroom there is 1 bottle of Palmolive and there is nothing in the fridge: empty. 135 euros is too expensive for what is offered. Disappointed with a well-done schnitzel without sauce and a pile of fries for E24.80. The venison medallions consisted of 2 thinly...

we spent the day in coblenz and decided to have a meal on the way back. we had heard about this place from the beaten away and the location was great in the forest. the place outside was full, but the inner was almost empty. we asked about eating in the inner and he wanted to know if we kept lol said it was almost empty in the inner. he went in and came back a few minutes later, he said it was good to go upstairs and they had set a table for us 7. at the time we were the only ones. He took our job and approx. 5 minutes later he came back with our drinks and told us that they did not have what 3 items of what we ordered, so we ordered new items. we have never seen the waiter again and I said...
