"Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our meal. We started with scallops, which, although delicious, came with just one per person, leaving us feeling a bit shortchanged. For the main course, we both chose the venison Wellington, which was severely overcooked and difficult to cut; the pastry was soggy and underdone. The sides included a tasty dauphinoise and a tiny carrot and turnip, but unfortunately, neither of us finished the dish. For dessert, I had a pear soufflé that turned out to be grainy, overly sweet, and the pears at the bottom had no flavor. My husband had the cheeseboard, which he enjoyed, and while the coffee was nice, we weren’t fond of the petit fours as they were too sweet and the flavors didn’t suit our tastes. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for us, especially since we had been looking forward to it. Although we wouldn’t choose to return, it’s possible that it was just an off night, so I wouldn’t want to discourage others from trying it."

This is a lovely hotel within a beautiful setting with fantastic gardens with RHS complimentary flowers. The hotel holds many events such as weddings, open days and more. The food is excellent and delicious. The hotel is family run and the standard of service is very high nothing is too much for the guests. As someone with celiac disease, I was initially worried about the gluten-free options. However, the hotel and the chef provided a special menu for me, complete with my own canapé board, which I truly appreciated. There were so many thoughtful details that made this hotel so special, from the personal touches when I went to the bathroom to the seamless turnaround of the dining room, and the service during the meal was both professional and organized. I could go on and on, and I’m sure I've only touched on half of what they did to make my wedding day so perfect.
