"I had a pleasure to jump in there and get tired outside. what a nice place to sit and drink and to catch up with friends. it was my first time there, and I would go back in a way. it is known for its fish menu and eating looked great from what I could see. I and the girls only came in for a short drink before they went to the small town. but I want to go back. the room outside was amazing with a small park for the little ones, it also had about 3 or 4 pods that they could use if they wanted the outside doors, but kept dry. I loved all this green, which depends on soon-and-a-half. they are looking forward to a new visit, can not expect to go back to tring."

We stopped off for a quick drink and some snacks while out for a ride. Finn was superb, greeting us on arrival and expediting our food order. I wish everywhere had such efficient service. Specials board full of fresh fish dishes. Will be back.

I had an absolutely excellent experience from start to finish. The service was attentive and provided by a fantastic team, and the food was delicious with a fantastic drink selection. The new outdoor area is a truly amazing space, and I know we'll be returning here frequently this summer. Definitely a five-star experience!

Had early celebration of husband's birthday with daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. Booked one of the pods which was perfect for 6 -private, well placed to watch all the activity in the pub garden and on the canal, sheltered from all weathers and with great servers. Food delicious as always. Only downside is car park immediately behind pods which appears in our photos, but not in line of vision when you are sitting in the pod.

The large crossing has a lovely garden and a small playground for children. We enjoyed sitting in the garden on a beautiful day. However, the food was disappointing. They really need to find a new cook. I had the worst hamburger I've ever eaten. On the bright side, the garden is beautiful, located near the river, and has heating for colder weather. The children enjoyed playing in the playground, although it could definitely be improved.

This pub has a fantastic appearance and offers lovely outdoor seating options, including private cabins with power outlets and Bluetooth. The garden is well-maintained and features a children’s playground. The access for individuals with disabilities is excellent, with sturdy handrails for support. The only downside to my experience was the service from the staff outside, which definitely lacked a friendly demeanor. Additionally, the staff seemed to be clustered behind the bar on the left side, appearing confused. This was not the level of service I expected from such a setting.

Really lovely refurb with a great garden space and a gorgeous covered area with plenty of seating, heaters and a fire pit. It will be fab in the summer, great for all the family. Super friendly staff who were very attentive. We ordered burger and chips from the evening menu. It came fairly quickly and looked lovely. We enjoyed the food, however we both said it was very salty and have had a raging thirst since coming home. Will definitely go back and try something else, just unfortunate that we both felt the same but only mentioned it after we had walked out. Appreciate should have said something at the time, so no drama really. Worth a visit anyway!

"An earlier conversation with the owner left me with eager anticipation of an evening with friends at Francesco 's last Saturday. My wife and I arrived to find an a homely restaurant setting with lively Italian music booming out. We were all set for a fun evening...Our friends arrived who we had not seen for a long time and stood to greet them. Instead we were instantly approached by the surly owner gruffly telling us all to sit down and order our food as they were busy that evening. We meekly complied, taken aback by this strange attitude and, quite frankly, rudeness on the part of 'mine host '.It got worse, the owner stripped off to a singlet vest top and roamed about the restaurant bellowing orders to his small staff who clearly were in fear of him. We asked a poor lady waitress if the music could be turned down a tad so that we could hear ourselves speak. She rolled her eyes and declined to approach the boss....In an earlier conversation prior to booking, the owner had assured me that all the food used in the restaurant was fresh. Absolute rubbish! We chose squid or antipasta to start and as far as the squid was concerned were presented with something that did not look like squid. It may have been squid it was difficult to tell but it was very ordinary and looked reminiscent of something from the freezer chest in Aldi. The antipasta was topped with nothing less than a bit of tinned salmon! This was followed by our mains. I was looking forward to my spaghetti marinara. What I received was a pile of steaming hot spaghetti, very al dente, on which a tomato flavoured pasta sauce had been slopped. If one looked carefully one could find the odd small prawn, an occasional small mussel or a squid ring. All very reminiscent of what one would find in a bag of frozen seafood. So much for fresh! The food was left on the plates largely uneaten. The surprising thing was that the staff were not surprised we had left it and did not query whether there was a problem! The bill £115.00 paid very reluctantly but we just wanted to leave it was all so appalling.A disappointing and embarrassing evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant was tense and unpleasant, the food, such as it was, decidedly below expectation. Our first visit to Francesco 's. Very poor experience; we will not be coming again, not only because of the food but the owner 's unpleasant manner and rudeness!"
